All Signs: The Mercury retrograde ends January 1, at approximately 7 pm PST (10 pm EST, 3 AM the next day in Britain, etc.). We can now go in new directions, form bonds, chase new opportunities, and start new projects. (In addition, Jupiter “went direct” Dec. 30, so this is really a “get up and go” time now.) One of the best uses of this Jupiter-Mercury “breakout” will involve a change of life, or research, or financial action or physical intimacy in some way.

WEEKLY FORECAST:

aries icon  ARIES:  March 21-April 19

The accent remains on your career, prestige relations, worldly standing and your ambitions in general, Aries. For most of this week, Mars, Venus, and Mercury in Sagittarius hint that someone might be chasing you, someone perhaps very suitable. (This is likely a continuation of December’s events.) Your money/income luck soars now to late May. A legal matter or document (or computer) might be involved. At work, try to get a permanent raise rather than a bonus or overtime. Now to early 2026, shy away from gov’t or management liaisons, but do accept a “management role.” Forget past restrictions from January 2 onward. delays have ended and you can charge ahead now in many areas.

taurus icon   TAURUS:  April 20-May 20

The accent continues on law, cultural rituals, far travel, higher learning, insurance, and “life philosophy,” Taurus. And on gentle love, tolerance and “large” ideas. (Now to early 2026, a slowly increasing hopefulness about these matters can slowly bring about solid success in these zones.) In December, you faced financial, sexual and lifestyle questions/decisions, but found it hard to come to any conclusions. That ends now, as you will act and decide with increasing sureness. However, lifestyle changes, sex and finances continue as a secondary (but strong) streak for several weeks. Now to late May, you will be filled with courage, optimism, good luck and a sense of adventure. Yes, change your life!

gemini icon  GEMINI:  May 21-June 20

December might have been pivotal in an important relationship, Gemini. (Or brought you one.) Last week, relationships veered into “private” territory: intimacy, financial actions, research, medical and lifestyle decisions — this zone will be your main, general current until Jan. 20. But the “open relationship” and opportunity phase continues as a secondary thread — one that might bring you fortunate investments, sweet sex, good lifestyle changes, etc. Attempts to straighten out your life or domicile (e.g., going through those 10 boxes of old papers) have stalled since September, but now (through May) you can tackle and solve these “holdovers” easily. Your career and worldly status/reputation are changeable (good or bad) until early 2026. Pressure here (e.g., in career) but chances to deepen your influence, accomplishments, also.

Cancer icon  CANCER:  June 21-July 22

Relationships abound this week and the next few, Cancer. Be diplomatic, make friends rather than enemies. With relationships, there also come opportunities, public dealings and possible relocation. You won’t be able to charge as freely into these areas as you want, because all your social planets (Mercury, Venus and Mars) remain in your work area — requiring you to keep your nose to the grindstone, but perhaps also offering a bit of sweet bonding with a coworker. You are in an excellent period to join new groups, and/or make new friends. A group you join now could bring you good fortune or good feelings for many years to come. This “joining” might have been somewhat delayed since early September, but it flies forward now to late May. be optimistic, and welcome everyone new!

Leo icon  LEO:  July 23-Aug. 22

Last month was romantic, creative and pleasurable, Leo. But January brings a lot of work, and perhaps a couple of health problems (not big ones). Still, romance remains a pretty hot thread in your days. You might be attracted to a Pisces type who oozes sexuality. In general, though, the pace will be slow and the payments “realistic,” in intimacy, research, health, and finances/investments now to early 2026. Your career, public profile, worldly standing and prestige relationships have been blessed with luck for seven or eight months, but there’s been a bit of a delay since September. Now that delay ends, and I urge you to chase your ambitions until late May. Many Leos will be promoted!

virgo icon  VIRGO:  Aug. 23-Sept. 22

I hope you got lots of rest in December, Virgo. Because now you want to look refreshed and have lots of energy to chase either romance, or a creative or inventive project. If you charge after pleasure, you’ll be on the right road. Slowly but surely (now to Feb. 2026) a romance can turn to marriage, or at least cohabitation. Higher learning, far travel, fame, legal matters, cultural and social, rituals, insurance, and a higher moral understanding of the world — these have been calling you in a fortunate way since last May. But since September little has occurred in this area, although the luck has not disappeared. Now you can pursue this wide zone until late May/24, with very fortunate outcomes. Some of you will move to live in a foreign country. But that’s a rare result.

libra icon  LIBRA:  Sept. 23-Oct. 22

December was active with lots of communication and short trips, although most of it attached to the past and to people you already know. Now the major accent lies on your domestic situation, although those errands and communications still exist as a secondary influence. You’ll be surprised, once, or twice, by how friendly or affectionate people are toward you. But they broad general influence is domestic: family, food, security, rest and foundational concerns. Since last spring, your luck has climbed in investments, finances, sex, research, medical, and lifestyle affairs. They have been delayed or sidetracked since September, but now you can shoot forward until late May. You could make one of the best investments of your life. Work will be a little slow and burdensome to February 2026.

scorpio icon  SCORPIO:  Oct. 23-Nov. 21

The weeks ahead continue to bring errands, calls and communications, paperwork and contacts, Scorpio. They have had little result, have even gone in circles, during the last week. But from Tuesday onward, you are free to send anything anywhere, and to start things. Since last May, other people have treated you cheerfully, but not with deep emotion. That’s OK, because these people are really here to bring you money opportunities. However, in the last few months, this also has gone in circles. Now, though, to late May 2024, a great good luck thread weaves its way through your relationships, and can bring great opportunities (especially in money) relocation themes, public dealings, even fame for some Scorpios. A casual sexual bond might turn into marriage or cohabitation before next May. Even though the general accent in January remains on errands and communications, etc., your money drives remain vibrant, and could pay off with a nice reward.

sagittarius icon  SAGITTARIUS:  Nov. 22-Dec. 21

The accent continues on earnings, buying and selling, possessions, rote learning, and casual sex, Sage. Your workload is about to grow, perhaps even explode, which should bring more money now to late May. A minor health problem that you were tempted to ignore might now (to May) demand attention. That’s OK, no big deal. Although your general path is a money or sensual one you still carry quite a bit of personal presence — others find you physically and emotionally attractive until late January. Thursday begins almost 5 weeks in which money will rush to you in a greater quantity than you anticipated. One caution: try to save it, or to pay down debt, because if you go on a spending spree, you’ll be poorer in February then you are now. This is a pretty good, easy week. Don’t fall in love Sunday.

capricorn icon  CAPRICORN:  Dec. 22-Jan. 19

Although there are still some threads of duties/burdens and background or confidential agreements, which you should take care of, in general the last month of duties and burdens dissipates. You are now at an annual peak of energy, charisma, clout and effectiveness, Cap. Delays are over, so charge ahead with significant projects. On romantic, creative and pleasure/beauty fronts, a four month long delay now turns into a forward moving juggernaut of good fortune. You might engage in a clandestine love affair, but that might be cheating yourself of better prospects. Expect lot of serious action in real estate or on the home front this Thursday to the middle of February. It might be a good time to renovate — or tear down that dangerously leaning old garage. Be gentle, diplomatic at home, especially with kids.

Aquarius icon  AQUARIUS:  Jan. 20-Feb. 18

Continue to lie low, Aquarius. Rest, ponder and plan, liaise with government or head office, develop yourself spiritually, and be charitable — this last item will improve your karma. avoid competitive situations. Although your energy and charisma are low, essentially in rest mode, you seem to have impressed enough people that the weeks ahead continue to bring you affectionate meetings and greetings. From Thursday to mid February, avoid belligerent, people and dangerous or dark places, such as biker clubs! A potential lover might wait in the wings. As noted earlier, now to late May offers tremendous good Fortune in domestic and real estate areas. if you haven’t done so yet, and have at least a down payment, this is an excellent time to buy a home, even to find a better rental. Also a great time to sell real estate.

Pisces icon  PISCES:  Feb. 19-March 20

Three more weeks of popularity, social delights, optimism and general happiness lie ahead, Pisces. Suddenly, a flurry of messages, invitations, paperwork and short trips begin to fill your days, and will last until late May. This is a great time to form an important wish. Don’t wish so hard that you clench your teeth; just recognize your desire, and let it percolate on its own. from Thursday to mid February you might have a light love affair with a man, or you might a male friend, and in either case, there seems to be a connection with money. Maybe the two of you can form a business or similar partnership. You had a fairly big career/ambition phase last month. Although the essential drive of this ambition has slackened a bit, the events of it continue in a fortunate — and perhaps very talkative — way.

THE END.

AFTERAMBLE:

Have you watched Biden’s attack dog Jack Smith crumple in the face of Trump’s lawyers? I told you many months ago that Smith was a bit of an idiot, and could not win due to intellectual and moral deficiencies. His latest move is a request to biased judge Chutkan to not let Trump or his lawyers enter any evidence in the federal trial. His reasoning? That Trump is not a nice man, and so should not be allowed to introduce any evidence (or truthful argument) that might sway the jury.

I don’t quite understand this Virgin Mary stuff. Sure, it’s miraculous that Jesus was born w/o human semen, certifying his delivery by God. But what is Mary doing, shacking up with a carpenter who is obviously her husband, but is so  cold (?) that he has never even had sex with her? Give me a break.

***

Karl Marx is the (dead) “leader” of the CRT (critical race theory) and DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) movements. He’s the guy who invented communism. Here are some of the things he said, which the CRT/DEI movement is trying to institute in schools, in government and politics. While you’re reading his quotes, remember that Randy Weingarten, President of the National Teachers Union in the USA, is an avowed Marxist. She, with President Biden, believes that children should be totally subject to their teachers, to transexual training, to medical experiments on their sex organs, and that parents should be excluded as much as possible from children’s lives, and totally excluded in decisions about them.

(My comments are in brackets below.)

Marx:

“The education of all children, from the moment that they can get along without a mother’s care, shall be in state institutions.”

(This is why Biden and crew attack parents and try to separate them from their children.)

“My object in life is to dethrone God and destroy capitalism.”

(Thus Biden’s attacks on Catholics, and on religion generally.)

A poem:

“THIS HEAVEN I’VE FORFEITED, I KNOW IT FULL WELL;

MY SOUL, ONCE TRUE TO GOD, IS CHOSEN FOR HELL.”

(Marx was anti-semitic and, although an atheist, hated the God he didn’t believe in. He believed all Jews were “hucksters” whose only God was money.)

“Communism begins where atheism begins.”

“If you can cut the people off from their history, then they can be easily persuaded.”

(Does this reverberate with the pro-Palestine “river to the sea” demonstrators, many of whom were shown in television interviews to not have any idea that Hamas invaded Israel in October? If contemporary reports are true, then Harvard and many of the other Ivy League universities do exactly this. They cut the students off from history, and nudge them into Marxist beliefs.)

“We have no compassion and we ask no compassion from you. When our turn comes, we shall not make excuses for the terror.”

(Sound like Maxine Waters, Antifa, BLM and others? — All of whom Biden’s DOJ have refused to charge, much less punish. Oh, and Hamas, anyone?)

This man, Marx, is the guiding light for the progressive left of the Democratic Party. Starting in the 1930’s, Marx’s ideas began to filter into academia, and grew until in the 1950’s to the present, many/most university profs espouse Marx’s ideas, and inculcate them in their students (without presenting the “other side” of the argument). School teachers (K to 12) earn their teaching degree from these Marxist professors, and so become the front line persuaders of children and supporters of DEI. (I experienced this trend in the 1960’s in high school, where any student who was gifted, unusual, individual, or sought to explore in any direction not sanctified by teachers, or asked questions that challenged teachers’ intellects, was ostracized, punished, and generally disdained or worse.  In grade 8, I was threatened with expulsion because I corrected an English teacher’s grammar.)

At present, it’s obvious that Biden, the DOJ and the FBI, and now it seems the armed forces, are all attempting to further Karl Marx’s agenda. Biden himself, it appears, has collected 20+ million dollars from the Chinese communists.

But the Democrats were “bent” long before Marx. First, they filled their plantations with slaves, then they fought the north in the Civil War, for no other reason than to keep their slaves, then they created within their ranks the KKK, and now they promote CRT, critical race theory, which basically tries to re-institute racism on all levels of American society. All this, all these, brought to you courtesy of the Democratic Party. Two heroic Democrats, JFK and Martin Luther King, advocated strongly to eradicate racism, to free what were still essentially economic, social and police-state slaves. Both were assassinated, probably by a Democrat operative. You argue against us, we kill you.

***

The mayor of Boston, who recently tried to hold a Christmas office party for council members that excluded all white people, apologized for her “mistake. “ It wasn’t a mistake, it was racist, pure and simple. The blacks in the US are far more racist than the whites. (And of course have reason to be. The greatest thing the blacks could do, and I think it would be a turning point, is to forgive, and have compassion. Many blacks have already reached this point, but it needs to be widespread.)

***

There’s a great article about America and the corruption of its laws, written by Laura Hollis. It’s dated Dec. 22, 2023. I think you can probably find it on the internet by entering her name. It’s an article on Thomas More (7 February 1478 – 6 July 1535 — an Aquarian, which explains why he stood by his ideas so firmly that Henry VIII had him executed). In the play about his life, “A Man For All Seasons”) there’s an argument between More and a young hot-head, Roper, his daughter’s suitor. More wants to preserve the laws; his prospective son-in-law believes that, if you’re pursuing “the Devil,” ignoring or casting aside any and every law is justified.

When More insists that one must first violate an English law before being arrested, Roper’s moral sensibilities are affronted. “So! Now you’d give the Devil benefit of law?” he protests.

“Yes,” says More. “What would you do? Cut a great road through the law to get after the Devil?”

The high-minded Roper insists that he would “cut down every law in England to do that!”

More warns Roper: “Oh? And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? This country is planted thick with laws, from coast to coast – man’s laws, not God’s – and if you cut them down – and you’re just the man to do it – do you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then?”

Hollis is trying to comment on the multiple law-fare attacks on Trump, whom the Democrats have determined is the devil and unworthy of the protection of the law.

***

When I read the article about Thomas More above, I agreed; I thought, “How wise Mr. More was!”  But I’ve mulled it over, and on second thought, while I do agree with him that within his environment the law did provide justice, safety, security, and protected everyone to a good degree from evil, chaos and injustice. (Except politically, since Henry executed Mr. More.)

But we live in a different environment than More’s. The law has evolved into being — ideally — the great equalizer. But you know it is being perverted when some people are treated differently than others, some punished and some let go free, depending on which party they belong to, and which perch they occupy.

So what do you do when the laws are used to attack the innocent, as is happening in some sectors of the U.S.? In a sense, Thomas More was wrong, and his prospective son-in-law Roper was right. (I’m referring to Ms. Hollis’  article above.) At a certain point (or level) of oppression, the innocent must ignore the laws that are used to oppress them, and rise up to fight evil directly, usually violently, as power does not yield itself easily. America was born this way, violently wrenching power from the British. That’s partly why I have written here that every Republican should own a gun.

***

I can’t really respect Trump when he says things like “illegal immigrants are poisoning the blood of America.” And calling them “vermin.” I think Trump is angry on a deep level about the specious lawsuits launched against him, and it is coming out as these “poison phrases.” I don’t really blame him, but I’m familiar with that kind of anger and there is nothing good about it, and it shows a limitation in Trump.

COINCIDENCE? — S, H and Y are Capricorn letters. For instance, (H)arold, (S)tephen and (Y)olanda are Capricorn names. Pluto, the planet of deep change, of destruction and reconstruction, of fungi and rot and marshes as a basis of new life, of death and birth, has spent the last 15 years in Capricorn — since 2008. This has brought corruption (the rot aspect) in the hierarchies of the world, as hierarchy is a Capricorn structure. (And starts with the Capricorn letter H.) Is it a coincidence that the so-called terrorist groups of Houthi, Hamas, and Hezbollah are all Capricorn names? (A digression: Israel is a Taurus name — and its Sun is in Taurus — Capricorn’s fifth sign of romance. But although the fifth sign/house sparks romance between individuals, it rules war between nations.)

Capricorn loves spelunking (S) — exploring caves — and Hamas has, by reports, dug over 800 tunnels beneath Gaza.

The Houthi (H) rebels are based in Yemen (Y) and the Hezbollah (H) live in Syria (S).

On January 20 Pluto will leave Capricorn for about a quarter millennium. I suspect its departure might, whether immediately or in time, mean the end of these Capricornian hierarchy groups or structures. (Pluto loves secret power, hence the corruption of the hierarchies.)

2024 to 2043, a different kind of rebel will appear.

***

I told you here that if Joe Biden was elected president, it would be like Americans buying a haunted house. Now look around you: when Biden made his famous Hitleresque anti-Maga speech, red lights (the colour of blood and Satan) illuminated the stage backdrop, and Marines stood (Illegally) in formation around him. In the past few months, Biden’s reelection team have begun selling coffee cups with Biden’s face on them. Well, and good except that these mugs have a red band across Biden’s eyes, from one ear to the other.

I won’t even mention the repression of the American people under Biden – for example, the repression of free speech, attacks on parents and churchgoers, blah, blah, blah.

Now statues of Satan have begun to pop up across America, many of them in front of government buildings and state Congresses. Many Christmas Christian nativity scenes are now accompanied with statues of Satan.

Usually the statues are red, the colour of blood and Satan. One member of Congress, in I think Wisconsin or one of those central northern states, published on social media a video of herself embracing and kissing a statue of Satan standing in front of the legislature building, and singing/reciting 10 or so lines of praise to him.

So I have to admit my prediction was wrong: Biden did not bring a haunted house — he brought Satan.

***

A report says the Biden administration did not want the public to know about the Chinese spy balloon that was floating over military sites in North America. They tried to hide it from Congress also. The existence was only addressed after a Montanan saw it, and a Montana newspaper published a story on it. Even then, Biden allowed the spy balloon with its high grade spy cameras, etc, to float over the US for 7 days (I think it was 7).

Put these three things together: 1) Biden hid the Chinese spy balloon’s existence from both the Congress and the public; 2) even after its discovery by the public, Biden continued for several days to allow the balloon to float over the U.S., when the Air Force could have easily downed it; 3) Biden and his family received — was it 10 or 30 or fifty million? — from Communist China.

  1. hail to the bop

Hi Tim…sounds like Pluto leaves Capricorn for Aquarius on January 20th. Could you please give us a rap on how will this affect those of us who also have our natal south nodes in Aquarius? Ergo, much of my graduating class of 1980, who also have natal Saturn in Aquarius — kind of like the grad class for the school of hard knocks! Or no?

      Hi, mymadrona,

Be discussing Pluto and Aquarius in my talk tonight, January 11. As for those with south node and Saturn in Aquarius, I can’t address that here in a short space. If you want to email me at suningem@gmail.com, and remind me of your Q., I’ll probably write something about it in the column. Interesting Q!
      Cheers,
      Tim
