START NOTHING (ALL TIMES ARE PACIFIC STANDARD): 4:59 am to 5:44 am Sun., 5:05 am to 8:57 am Tues., 3:23 pm to 4:06 pm Thurs., and 7:48 am to 9:54 am Sat.

PREAMBLE:

As noted recently, the “Start Nothing” times (above) have become very short because several planets are near the end of a sign. But remember, it is better to start projects several HOURS AFTER  a “Start Nothing” period ends, rather than right away. E.g., in the first “slot” above, 4:59 to 5:44 am, you would not start a project right at 5:55, or even at 7 — best to wait several hours at least, so in this case, let’s start at, say, 11 am. (There are exceptions to this, but they’re rare.)

WEEKLY FORECAST:

aries icon  ARIES:  March 21-April 19

Continue to be ambitious, Aries. This is one of your better career/prestige/ambition months in a few years. Yet at the same time, the planet of great good luck is sitting in the opposite place, in your sector of home, family, and retreat. You either have to pick one or the other, career or domesticity, or somehow combine them, which can bring unusual success. E.g., a day care, business, or selling anything to do with maternity, food, shelter, etc. In other words, use anything domestic as a business platform. Three major planets (Saturn, Uranus and Neptune) pull your life toward practical goals and boundaries — but this is temporary, and within a month or three you will find that your forward path is much different – idealistic, empathic, and inspired. Sunday to just past dawn on Tuesday brings romance and creative surges, though not great success with these. There’s a problem of definition, of two people wanting different things and each not understanding what the other needs. Tackle chores Tuesday morning to mid afternoon Thursday (PST). This is a very successful interval from mid- afternoon Tuesday to 10 PM Wednesday. PST. Thursday supper time through Saturday brings relationships, opportunities, agreements, and disputes. Friday holds great opportunities, but Saturday is basically a “dud.”

taurus icon  TAURUS:  April 20-May 20

The accent remains on vision, profound insights, far travel, international affairs, law, higher learning, social rites, media and gentle love, Taurus. If Jupiter were direct in motion, this would be a perfect time for a wedding. (But it ain’t.) Avoid legal disputes. Many of you will travel, even to another country in the next two weeks. It’s a good time to express your opinion, or to shake up stagnant conditions. Sunday/Monday is domestic. Hug the kids, and try not to argue with partners or bosses. Romance blossoms just after sunrise (PST) Tuesday to late afternoon Thursday. Wednesday is best. If you’re not in the romance market, this interval favours creative and speculative actions, teaching children, and seeking pleasure. Tackle chores Thursday eve through Saturday. Eat, dress sensibly. Thursday holds out an alluring “opportunity” — study yet before committing. Friday holds some valid opportunities, especially in relationships, but take care Saturday morning — slip-ups and obstacles.

gemini icon  GEMINI:  May 21-June 20

You’re deep into life’s mysteries, Gemini. You might be attracted sexually to a person with whom you might be incompatible. Steer away from any extra marital shenanigans. Your money picture remains favourable, but has stalled, especially in income areas, until mid March. Be patient until then. Use the time to plan new income projects. You can feel powerful urges to invest — this might go well, especially Wednesday. You are very busy, and various projects may be coming to ahead or pressuring you to get more done. Paperwork, communications, short trips, and errands fill Sunday/Monday. Nothing hugely bad or good here, just get it done. Your home, family, security, garden, and real estate holdings “welcome your attention” just after dawn Tuesday to late afternoon Thursday (PST). This is a benevolent interval, especially during a very lucky Wednesday, but it does make you face some indisputable realities by Thursday. (These are somehow connected to prestige and status.) Thursday supper time through Saturday brings beauty, pleasure, creative and inventive surges, charming children, and romance. However, you face either opportunity or opposition. Decide which it is, then act. Frustrations can arise Saturday, so don’t “challenge destiny.”

Cancer icon  CANCER:  June 21-July 22

You are in the midst of a very lucky year, Cancer, but the luck has stalled until the second week in March. Keep the faith. By next summer, you will feel like you have conquered the world, or at least a small portion of it. Meanwhile, January presents some very dramatic, emotional, and sensual/romantic openings. Deep currents of mating, and future, run slowly through this. Money, income, possessions, casual sex, and/or rote learning fill Sunday/Monday. Go slow, as there is little good luck or opportunity here. Just plod along. News, information, paperwork, communications, errands and trips fill Tuesday midmorning (PST) to late afternoon Thursday. This is a benevolent interval, especially Wednesday — good news or a good new acquaintance! (A good day to make a romantic bid.) Head for home, hug the family, fix up the house, cook a feast Thursday night through Saturday. But don’t get too ambitious Friday/Saturday, when irksome obstacles appear. You might spy, an opportunity that one day might lead to a partnership or your own relocation.

Leo icon  LEO:  July 23-Aug. 22

Work, work, and more work, Leo, for a little over two more weeks. Might as well get it done. Also, take care of your health, because the last third of January is going to bring many potential partners and potential opportunities. You will need lots of energy and enthusiasm — and freedom to act. So get all those chores done now. An investment opportunity won’t last beyond mid February. A coworker romance is possible, but you might be wiser to wait a few weeks for real romance. Your energy and charisma are tops Sunday/Monday, but there isn’t a lot of room for accomplishment. (So again, tackle those chores.) Possessions and income are paramount concerns from midmorning Tuesday to late afternoon Thursday (PST). Wednesday is very fortunate — maybe ask for a pay raise? Thursday demands a certain astuteness and an ability to see and grab opportunity. Thursday eve through Saturday brings errands, paperwork, news and reports, and communications. These are fine Thursday, present either opportunities or opposition Friday, but are totally mucked up Saturday.

virgo icon  VIRGO:  Aug. 23-Sept. 22

Wow — this is one of the most romantic, creative streaks in some time, Virgo! You might have felt an attraction recently, but could not find your voice. Now you can talk easily about love and all that stuff. But if you are single and seeking, make your move before January 20 — after that, most of the magic fades. If you are already attached, this week and next are superb for creative projects, painting and other decorations, risky gambles, pleasure seeking, etc. Lie low, rest, avoid competition, think and plan Sunday/Monday. Be cautious, as luck is not in the room. (E.g., don’t remind the government of your existence.) Your energy, charisma, clout, and effectiveness hit a monthly high just after dawn Tuesday to late afternoon Thursday. (PST). Best period: late Tuesday night through Wednesday. If you’re looking for love, look now! It will be easy for you to impress someone desirable. Chase money, pay bills, buy/sell, hug a “sometime lover,” or read to learn Thursday eve through Saturday. Realize this is not an easy interval (esp. during a frustrating Saturday) but it does contain a choice: fight or agree, seize and opportunity, or face opposition.

libra icon  LIBRA:  Sept. 23-Oct. 22

The main emphasis remains on home, children, security and mother nature, Libra. There’s a tremendous amount of activity in this sector, lots of discussion will occur over issues such as beauty, renovations, children’s growth, and perhaps their “romantic awakening.” If single, you could fall for a backyard romance. This is a good time to prune the garden and to prune your personal situations, to let stale, unproductive relationships go and to take the first step in establishing new relationships/situations. Your hopes and optimism rise happily Sunday/Monday. However, good luck is pretty absent. So just enjoy your mood and be friendly. Retreat to a quiet place just past  dawn Tuesday to late afternoon Thursday. Rest, contemplate and plan for the future. Liaise with government or head office. Seek advice. Wednesday is the best time for all these. Thursday hovers between opportunities and opposition. Your energy and charisma shoot upward Thursday eve through Saturday. You might use this energy to take care of situations at home, or to seize opportunities that appear in your home and career zones. Still, be cautious or proceed with fore-thought Saturday.

scorpio icon  SCORPIO:  Oct. 23-Nov. 21

Usually, this would not be an important time, Scorpio. The main emphasis is on messaging and communications, reports and paperwork, errands and short trips, and casual acquaintances. A sort of surface month. But this January, these communications and trips might spark or lead to strong romantic or artistic contacts or involvements. Your attitude towards romance is quite serious and practical these days — like magic mixed with reality. But this only lasts into February, when a much more work-like attitude enters. Be ambitious Sunday/Monday, but be careful also as there are no good aspects. (No really bad ones either except around midmorning Sunday [PST] when someone might personally oppose you.) Hopes and wishes, popularity and social joys, entertainment, and flirtations — these buoy your heart mid morning Tuesday to late afternoon, Thursday. This is a great interval, especially Wednesday. You can make great new friends, you might spark a new romance, etc. Retreat from the hustle and bustle Thursday eve through Saturday. Rest, recharge, your physical and emotional batteries, contemplate and plan. This would usually be a good time to contact government or head office, or to seek an astute advisor. But this time there are so many obstacles and imponderables that you might be wise just to rest — Though there are legal and travel and educational opportunities here.

sagittarius icon  SAGITTARIUS:  Nov. 22-Dec. 21

The emphasis remains on money and possessions for two more weeks, Sage. Buy/sell, collect $ and play bills, etc. This period often contains “casual sex” — by which I mean without deep love or romance (so casual sex seldom leads to a durable marriage). But his time, Mars, Venus and Mercury, your love and marriage planets, are travelling through this “casual sex” zone. This makes a “casual encounter” even more likely, and in some cases this can lead to a durable, even martial bond. But, it could mean you spend money on romantic gifts or art or fine things. A mellow, understanding mood flows over you Sunday/Monday. It contains love, and heightened wisdom. But not luck — so just muddle through. Higher-ups are watching, Tuesday morning to late afternoon Thursday (PST) — and you will impress them, especially Wed. (A good day to launch a career project or new business.) You’ll feel like celebrating Thursday eve through Saturday. Your popularity and optimism, flirts and friends, buoy your heart. However, don’t expect big triumphs, especially Saturday (lots of obstacles). You might experience a tug-of-war between home and outside ambitions.

capricorn icon  CAPRICORN:  Dec. 22-Jan. 20

It’s your time, Cap! Not only is the sun in your sign, giving you extra energy and charisma, but in addition, the three social planets are spending the next couple of weeks in your sign. (The social planets: Mercury/communications, Venus/love, Mars/male sexuality.) right now, you are the leader of the zodiac. So start projects, gather allies, state your case, stand up for yourself. At least one person finds you romantically attractive, and will probably speak up soon. Sunday/Monday is deeply sexual and financial. But my advice is: do nothing, as there are not really any good aspects, so luck is low. Mid morning Tuesday to late afternoon Thursday (PST) brings a mellow mood, profound thoughts, law, media, far travel, higher learning and social rites. This interval shines with good fortune, esp. Wednesday. You could fall in love with someone who wants you, too. By Thursday, there might be “demanding” questions. That’s okay. Thursday evening through Saturday highlights your career, prestige relations, and worldly standing. This is a little like the Chinese proverb: crisis leading to success. (I forget the exact proverb.) there will be obstacles and opposition and problems, but almost each of them represents an opportunity for you to find an ambition advancing solution.

Aquarius icon  AQUARIUS:  Jan. 21-Feb. 18

Continue to rest, contemplate your past and your future, and make plans, Aquarius. Seek advice, be charitable, and liaise with government or head office. Many things are happening in this background zone. Some of you might start a powerful love affair, but one which is restricting for some reason. (All in all, it would likely be better to wait until late January/February, when the same powerful romantic elements will occur in your own sign, giving a freeing rather than restricting trend.) If you have any actions to take in a monetary or income situation, do it now, before late January. Sunday/Monday brings relationships, opportunities and opposition. Don’t pursue anything too adventurously, as there is little luck in these two days. Dive into the secrets of life just past dawn Tuesday to late afternoon Thursday (PST). You’ll be drawn into investments, finances, sexual desires, medical decisions, and lifestyle choices — with strong good luck, esp. Wednesday. Commitment will bring desirable consequences. A mellow, wise mood flows over you Thursday eve through Saturday. Opportunities exist here, to travel, publish, apply for school, between Friday morning and before dawn Saturday. The rest of Saturday tends to throw you off your path with numerous obstacles.

Pisces icon  PISCES:  Feb. 19-March 20

This week and next bring optimism, social joys and popularity, entertainment and flirtations, Pisces. You will be happy! A rather major love affair could start now. (Though it will have a light touch rather than swim through the heavy waters of infatuation, it will contain elements of partnership.) Soon – but not quite yet – you’ll begin a major money trend to last over a decade, to 2038. Tackle chores, Sunday/Monday. Eat and dress sensibly, as your health will be a little vulnerable. Mid week (just past dawn Tuesday to late afternoon Thursday, PST) brings relationships, opportunities and opposition, relocation themes, and possible public appearances — almost totally fortunately, especially Wednesday. Dive in! The depths and secrets of life rise to the surface Friday eve through Saturday. Lust for sex or power, research, valuable knowledge, major financial actions, medical problems, and lifestyle decisions fill this interval. However, good luck is rare here, so proceed with caution. You might seal a deal with a Cancer or a Capricorn person, or benefit from their inter-dealing. Saturday is full of obstacles and frustrations — maybe just take a break.

THE END.

AFTERAMBLE:

Capricorns find it easy to say no. Librans on the other hand hate to say no, and often get into complicated situations because they didn’t. Capricorn contemplates the steps to power or leadership. Libra contemplates the balance of everything. Both signs are diplomatic. Libra likes to coat its traps in the sweetest honey. Capricorn’s idea of heroism is to walk softly and carry a big stick. Both signs are also ambitious, sometimes to change their environment, sometimes for self-aggrandizement. Both are leadership signs. Eisenhower, commander of western forces in WW 2, was a Libra. Joan of Arc, Mao, Ben Franklin were all Caps.

Movies used to carry messages. Now they express/carry a consciousness.

They say true heroism is to advance toward a danger, despite your fear. I’m not sure that’s true. I have acted heroically in a few instances. I saved a boy from drowning. Another time, 15 years old, I chased a 50-pound bear cub up a tree about 60 feet and then pulled it  down, clawing  and groaning. (I put him back in the zoo‘s bear pit.) In the 70’s I stood between a woman and a raging man who was about to attack her. I simply said to him, men don’t beat up women, and he walked away.

My point is, in  each of these instances and others I felt no fear whatsoever. I  moved instinctively, without thought. Nor did I feel anything physically – when I saved the boy, I had to run over about 100 feet of sharp stones before I reached the water. An hour before, I’d been walking across this sharp gravel slowly and painfully, probably looking like an old man stepping on ants. But when I saved the boy, I didn’t feel anything. When I brought that bear cub down, I wasn’t thinking of anything except my next handhold.

But as a normally rambunctious boy and teenager and young man, I sometimes ran towards danger and felt fear – the fear was part of the thrill of it. How close you could come to getting caught, how fast you could run away, heart pounding with fear. So I always associated fear with risky actions that were not meant to save or help anyone, but offered the fun of toying with danger — the exhilaration of fear. Every teenaged boy knows this.

All the nuts (Rosie O’Donnell, Jimmy Kimmel) are going to Great Britain to shout back at America and its choice for president, tongues flaming with blame.

It is rather fitting, when you remember that present day Britain revels in throwing people in jail for expressing their opinion… Heck, they’ve even thrown a couple of women in jail for saying nothing, wearing no signs, just for standing outside, praying silently hundreds of feet from an abortion clinic.

Britain is where muslim  immigrants are allowed to rape and traffic girls (no, not women — girls) and the police turn a blind eye — I guess because they don’t want to show bigotry, or because they want to please their cruel,  effete bosses.

So the cops will arrest a woman for praying, but let a Muslim rapist gang operate Scott free. (My apologies to you, Ashton, I could not visit such a country again.)

***

The meek shall inherit the Earth, Christ said. I puzzled over that for decades, because it seemed to go against everything required for ambitious action. But then I realized the non-meek, warriors and fighters, don’t accumulate, nor is it the nature of Mars. Things were simpler back then. There were only the meek and the warriors, they had none of the complexities of our modern day CEOs.

Our children will inevitably see further and more clearly than we do. This is the way it should be. We have learned things that our parents never even imagined. And now our children will learn things beyond our own knowing, partly because they’re standing on our shoulders, where the air is more rarified, thinner and less emotional.

Just saw an interesting thing. An NFL game, Washington versus Philadelphia with about four minutes to go, Washington hopelessly behind by 19 points. Then two players started fighting each other.

Two big linemen, who both happened to be Eagles,, stepped in to stop the fight. But somehow that spread the fight, and before long, both teams were brawling.

This happens on a world-wide scale, too. Between nations, efforts to impose peace might eventually bring a more widespread war. (Think of Britain and the U.S. imposing peace and drawing national boundaries in the Middle East after WW II, and the hotbed of fracturism the M.E. has become, 75-80 years later1.) I think Mr. Trump has done very well so far on the international scene with his peacekeeping efforts – and unique successes. I say unique because no one has ever caused that many peace agreements between that many nations in one year, let alone ever.  But if the agreements fall apart, pent-up militaries and ancient angers/disputes might see opportunities.

I always thought those bucolic landscapes showing a city with tall buildings surrounded by gentle green park-like forests, was a fantasy of some utopian future. However, after visiting the east of America, I realized that the cities and countryside there actually do look like that.

In BC, where I live, the towns are carved out of primitive nature, built on the growls of excavators and the whine of chainsaws. Raw dirt and busted rocks are everywhere. The trees are not light and fluffy, they’re dark and spiked.
