ALL TIMES/DAYS ARE PACIFIC DAYLIGHT.
START NOTHING: 7:27 am to 11:44 pm Sun., 8:30 pm Tues. to 9:41 am Wed., and 1: 44 pm to 9:55 pm Fri.
EXPLANATION:
The “Start Nothing” times are really “moon void of course” times. The “void” occurs when the moon is travelling through a sign, and has, say, squared Venus, trined Mars and opposed Saturn, but after all this won’t make any more aspects before it leaves the sign. Astrologers call this “void,” and believe that projects and relationships started during a void moon eventually come to nothing — there is no support from the moon.
I Think it is more complicated than that, but it’s a good general first direction. If it was Jupiter that was going void in a sign it had been travelling in, we might consider it’s actions futile, but we would look specifically at areas, things and people ruled by Jupiter or Sagittarius.
When the moon is void, of course (which I base the “Start Nothing” times on) we simply throw our arms up and say that nothing succeeds under it. The usual advice is to do routine chores like the dishes, and/or to engage in spiritual pursuits. Anything else begun under this void is doomed to fail. I don’t want to dispute this too strongly, partly because I’ve seen it happen, dramatically. Years ago I went with my son to an auction and bought four sheep under a void (“start nothing”) Moon. Brought them home and put them in a pen with a goldfish pool in the middle. We returned one weekend day and they were all gone – the only things left were tufts of wool here and there down the field. The odd thing was, none of the fence was destroyed., Not even the gate. Somehow, those clever coyotes found a way to open the gate — it was one of those latch things, not with a pad lock. (They weren’t that clever.) Or, perhaps it was human thieves. But the “void” proved true.
WEEK AHEAD (Sept. 13-19)
Instead of individual forecasts, I’m just going to lay out general parameters for action. Any times and days referred to are Pacific Daylight.
SUNDAY’S friction or action prone early (to 8 am PDT) then turns to friendship, communications, love/romance, success with computers to late suppertime, then affection rules this night.
MONDAY: Is tough, stubborn or slightly disjointed to about noon, then favours physical and sexual action. Not a good day to start new projects or relationships.
TUESDAY: Also not good for starting new projects or relationships before noon PDT, but excellent after that for relationships, action and intuitive understanding.
WEDNESDAY: Much the same — inspiration and intuition are strong and accurate until about suppertime PDT. But disruptive the rest of the day. Computers might give some grief.
THURSDAY: Smooth and easy all day; lucky too. But a practical problem or obstacle awaits in the very near future, so mix caution, planning, with that good luck. Build strong.
FRIDAY: Here’s that practical problem (maybe one of communication, or vehicle difficulty) — it “peaks” before dawn (3 am PDT) but you might spend the rest of the day (and into early Saturday) trying to solve it, while “hard facts” are hard to come by.
SATURDAY: A pleasant morning, but a day without clear definitions or “knowing.” Protect yourself in practical and prestige areas.
AFTERWORDS:
To God, time is like a revolving disk, slowly creating itself. To whatever God is, time is infinitely flexible, and can be stopped. We humans are entwined in the revolving disk, as is “the universe.” What that says about the big bang and expansion, I don’t know — these seem to depend upon time. Which is good, but also admits the possibility that real truth, real reality, comes from another source: from, perhaps, the view of the presence (sorry to simplify it, can’t think of better words) that sits outside our universe.

Here’s how Canada can win the trade war with the US: wait until two or three weeks before the midterm elections, then pull the plug on electricity from Quebec to the northeastern US. Maybe also pull the oil. These might ensure the defeat of the Republicans, although the Democrats seem determined to defeat themselves.

I doubt Alberta will vote to separate from Canada in October. However, I think they will talk about or write about a working partnership with Canada – rather than with Ottawa.

What I find astounding in all the coverage of Lindsey Clancy, the mother who strangled her three children to death, are the photos of the children and of the family. In all of them, the children look happy, ebullient, they’re laughing in very natural ways. To look at these children, you would think, “ Wow, they must have a very good mother .”

I liked Trump in his first term. Not so much now. His leonic tendencies (he’s Leo rising) are being indulged and reinforced, and are meeting with success among his close “battalion,” but are making me worry. (Leo is the sign of the king. It is generous and vengeful, optimistic and stubborn.)
Jupiter is now in Leo, and stays there till almost August 2027. Jupiter is the planet of great good luck, and is especially so for Leos. Jupiter is encouraging Trump to expand, to follow his own personality more confidently, and wage wars on political and military fronts. But at the same time, filling the 18 months ahead, the lunar south node will be going through Leo — and it rules bad karma, or the punishment for it. The lunar node and Jupiter actually join hands in November, a month of great consequence for many people. It will either bring consequences of past actions, or lure people into entering a sometimes decades-long corridor, which will essentially be a trap of wasted effort.
The south note also often tempts us to try to be something we’re not or to live a false life. It also temps us to feel self pity, or to blame others for anything that goes wrong.
Watch Trump in November.

There is an inherent weakness in crime and criminals. If you ever meet a criminal, you will sense it. But like me, perhaps, you won’t be able to put your finger on exactly what that weakness is or what causes it. I suspect that once one is broken by the system, part of yourself remains apologetic, ever ready to yield before a sufficient blow. The actor, Peter Laurie picked up on this and has used an exaggerated version of it in almost every film he was in.

When God wants to punish you, he often uses the devil. (E.g., Hitler.) The only problem with that is that God is everything, so God must be the devil also.
I must have done something wrong in a past life because from seven years old to I think 11 or 12 years old, God decided to sexually abuse me, using the same man who had sexually abused my mother. (She ran from this incestuous, abusive family into the arms of a man who could not support the intricate structures of her grief. She produced four children, and when her husband abandoned her, she brought herself and the children back to the family home and the giant incestuous pedophile — he was 6’4”, when most men were 5’ 9 or 10 “.)
God knows full well that if you sexually interfere with a child, you bend that entire child’s life. You condemn the child to a 90+ percent chance of failure, bad relationships, criminality, and general flailing about in a fog of ignorance. That’s the blessing that God bestowed on me. But God (I won’t personalize It) also made me lucky, smart (154 IQ) curious, adventurous, and ambitious, and I ended up here. My brother, if he’s still alive, turned into a kind of defensive hermit. One of my sisters lives in the country. The other lives in a subsidized apartment in a suburb of Vancouver. Both are dirt poor, and both, I think by choice, live alone. None of us have been successful in relationships. My brother used to beat up women. He beat up our mother. I think I know why. I have had probably 30 lovers. I’ve been married and divorced twice – three times if you count common law.
But I sense – although I don’t know – that my brother has found some peace and is still with the woman I met on the ferry 10 years ago. He will be 80 in December. Age does funny things. It slows you down, mellows you, makes you more accepting of things and people. I don’t know about the 80s, but in my 70s, there were a lot of awakenings to my own shortcomings and to my responsibility for past events. I finally saw that small little falsehoods – assuming a role or character, for instance, or lying about a relationship or why it ended – were actually major falsehoods with major consequences. I finally realized that these false words/stances used to “seduce” someone in the beginning, were actually the beginning of the end of the relationship.
Finally, in my 70s, I decided, or at least considered the idea, that only honesty would bring you the person who actually could be enduringly compatible with you. I’ve been pretty honest these last two or three years.
I remember as a teenager, and even a young man, living and speaking honestly was oddly natural; and yet I made it conscious, and a principal to live by.
Somehow that got lost, and I don’t exactly know how. I know how life was when honesty was lost. That was a period of babies and running my company and being known as an astrologer and buying and selling houses — a busy and fruitful, and yet in some respects empty existence. So I know what life was like when I was honest, and I know what it was like in that broad, strong period of dishonesty. But I don’t know how I got from one state to the other. In many ways I remained very honest, in business and with everyone generally.
But in one area, I was not: in love. I couldn’t tell if I was good looking or goofy looking, so I couldn’t depend on my looks. So I developed a kind of punky, tough shell, which some women liked. But in all of these, from one night stands to nine year affairs, I always sooner or later gazed on a hollow core. I couldn’t love. I mistook romance for love, and romance wears out.
It was the same with real estate: I’ve probably bought 10 to 20 properties, and sold all but two at a very nice profit. Yet every one of those properties that I profited from are now worth 2 to 10 times what I sold them for (depending on how long ago). I realize now that I had a deep drive to own land because I had spent the first seven years in my life in two cars and 10 places. But something additionally was operating: I had an even deeper desire, one I wasn’t even conscious of until late in life, to change, to change where I lived, to change this relationship, these circumstances, to explore and travel.
It’s almost like God decided to 1) fuck me early, and 2) make me smart and lucky, to see what my life would be like. I was God’s savoury dish, a piquant mix of sweet and sour. But I’m happy now. I always have been, really. All the big things in my life have come in a lucky way or the results turned out to be lucky. At present, Uranus sits in the very same degree as my birth moon. So my usual tremors have increased by at least two times I can hardly write or print. I can’t pour a glass of milk, even the plastic kind with the handle, without spilling at least a tablespoons worth. My kitchen floor is littered with food. I can’t use a screwdriver. When I try to clean my teeth, I often hit my nose or my eye with the toothbrush. I’ll bet God gets a real belly laugh out of this. Basically, Uranus is shredding my nerves. But it is also bringing good stuff: I notice my logic is more cogent and easier lately. But I have insomnia. Both are Uranus effects. Uranus also causes change: when it hit my moon, the column – this blog – crashed. I did so right at the point to my life where I was thinking why am I still doing this? That is partly why I haven’t resurrected the old column. Obviously God does not want me to write it anymore. If I am misinterpreting the lightning-like destruction of my column, and God really does want me to fix it, to soldier on and continue (even though this is the third time this year that he has destroyed the blog) then He or It, or She can explain in more plain language, or can kiss my ass. In sum, tho, I think the blog was destroyed by God to point me in a new direction. I’ve been contemplating this new direction for one or two years now, so I suspect God just decided to get me off my ass. The blog’s obliteration was meant, I think, to change my life.
My sisters have given up on love, or at least they tell me so. My brother, I don’t know, but I suspect he doesn’t want to live alone. Too many demons chasing around in the submerged personality: regret, shame, anger, guilt, growling like fighting dogs. He uses a woman to dampen the wrestlers inside; she throws a smooth sheet over them – as long as he can stay interested. Yep, I’m like that too.
From a childhood living in cars and many houses, constantly new neighbourhoods; I can remember only glimpses, photos — a tree here, a street there. This constant moving had three effects: one, it made me an inveterate wanderer; two, it barred me from having any social contacts outside of my family, until I was seven, which made me a loner; three, the alienation eventually led to insecurity – I don’t know how deep or strong it was.
But insecurity had one cure: find a woman to live with. For some reason that brought calm and solidity, a feeling that life was sane and correct and tangible or fruitful. I have described above what typically happened after that.
What role my sexual abuse played in all that, and in my pursuit of and tiring of women, I don’t know. I’d have to think about it. But I do know God used the devil to hurt me.
