One way to ensure (okay, help) good government: say Trump’s elected. Then, in hiring advisors, he should choose one-third from the ranks of the democrats. If Kamala, she should make sure one third of her advisors are republicans. But advisors only — none of these “other party” advisers should have even a whisper of involvement, clout, direction or influencing of staff, outside the Oval Office. A president who only has advisers from one party, is vulnerable to (unconscious) tunnel vision — a dangerous condition on the world stage, and an unfair one at home.

Bureaucrats gone mad:  I was looking in the B.C. (*) Assessment rolls for a friend. It listed a mobile home as being on a deeded 4,650 sq. ft. lot. Another was listed by the assessment board as over 8,000 sq. ft. Neither was on a lot of even 2,500 sq. ft. So I looked up our townhouse: 2,200 sq. ft, 4 bedrooms. B.C. Assessment declares it is 1,500 sq. ft. with 2-bedrooms. How can they be SO mistaken? Oh, yeah, almost forgot — they work for the government.

WEEKLY FORECAST:

aries icon  ARIES:  March 21-April 19

Your intuition is high now, Aries. Use it, follow your hunches, as you investigate, research, invest, borrow, chase sex, or make medical or lifestyle decisions. At last, friction on the home front dissolves, and a strong romantic or creative trend replaces it, until early January. Until mid-January, it’s better to be yourself than to try too hard to “link up.”  This week, love, intellectual, travel, legal and learning trends sweeten and lead to communications — these are highlighted Sunday to dawn Tuesday (PDT). Sunday’s a bit rough, might try to “unseat” you. Monday, though, is filled with opportunities (to talk, mostly) and sweet mental harmony. Be ambitious Tuesday dawn to late afternoon Thursday. This is a good, solid, progressing interval. (Tuesday’s weakest for results.) From late afternoon Thursday to Saturday night, your popularity rises, social delights are available, flirtation and optimism make your future swell with good feelings. However, be cautious Saturday, when misguided thinking and disruption might tangle you up.

taurus icon  TAURUS:  April 20-May 20

The accent remains on exciting meetings and fresh horizons, Taurus. Partnership, diplomacy, persuasion, opportunities, “fame,” and relocation themes fill the three weeks ahead. One important switch: for 2 months you have been a bit aggressive and critical in communications. That ends now, to be replaced by 8 weeks of potential friction on the home front, with family. Try to be gentle, understanding. A secondary thread leads to fortunate investments, lustful chases, research, and possibly medical or lifestyle “surgery” — these are emphasized Sunday to dawn Tuesday (PST). Sunday holds opposition, opportunity, and impractical ideas. Monday’s smooth, fortunate. Your intellectual side rises to the top Tuesday dawn to mid-late afternoon Thursday. Peace, tolerance, gentle love mingle with travel, legal, higher learning, philosophical factors. Display your ambitions, skills and determination Thursday suppertime to Saturday night. Friday’s best for action. Saturday faces some small disruptions.

gemini icon  GEMINI:  May 21-June 20

The accent remains on work, employment issues, daily health, machines and tools, Gemini. If purchasing, you might be wise to wait awhile. A recent run of swelled income ends now (Sunday) so start to be more of a penny-pincher. Relationships are lively, affectionate — and will soon be tied up with, or intermingled with, your hopes and wishes. You’re still liked by many, but your personal charm, luck, take a mild, wee vacation until February ’25. Remember, until January, it’s better to be social, friends, than to plunge into heavy romance, mad love. Also until January, you’ll be restless, talkative, travel-prone — in good ways! Sunday to dawn Tuesday (PST) brings relationships, agreements and opposition, opportunities and rejections, fresh horizons. Turn from a rejection (in $ or practical matters) to an opportunity (in relationships, relocation) Sunday. Monday starts slow but ends with gladness! Lust, power plays, investments and debt, research, medical concerns and lifestyle decisions fill Tuesday dawn to mid-late afternoon Thursday (PST — late night in Europe, the next day in Asia). Love, tolerance, profound ideas and gentle love fill Thursday afternoon to Saturday night. Be a scholar! Be mildly cautious Saturday as dreams can lead to disruption. (Don’t fantasize while parking.)

Cancer icon  CANCER:  June 21-July 22

The emphasis remains on pleasure, beauty, romance, creative surges and gambling urges, Cancer. It’s a great time to teach or deal with children. Small blessings reward you in work, health, dependents’ needs, tools and machinery. These are highlighted Sunday to Tuesday dawn (PST) — against the flow Sunday, successfully Monday.  You’ve been pretty aggressive, impatient, dominant and sexually magnetic for a couple of months — now that ends (tho’ it will return in ’25, January to April). Instead, a new trend, lasting until early January, will bring extra $ — and an unfortunate, subconscious desire to spend it, and more. You might be promoted with a pay raise. You might also start a casual love affair, tho’ that’s less likely. Until January, nurture your family, not your prestige contacts. Tuesday dawn to mid-late afternoon Thursday brings exciting meetings, love agreements/proposals, relocation themes, opportunities, possible “fame,” possible opposition. Dive in, approach someone. Thursday pm to Saturday night brings secrets, research, large finances, lust, and medical or lifestyle decisions — fortunately Friday, but watch minor disruptions Sat.

Leo icon  LEO:  July 23-Aug. 22

The accent remains on your home, family, security, Mother Nature, gardening, and pruning, Leo — that includes pruning stale relationships or situations, to make room for the new and vibrant. Sunday starts 8 weeks of intellectual, personal intensity, sexual magnetism, determination and “new energy.” But remember, for now (to late Nov.) everything stands on your security, home, etc. In addition, while your sex life is nothing to write home about, you receive lots of romantic moments as “compensation” — esp. this week, but to some degree (flirting, socializing, talking, wooing) right into early January. Lots of indecision lies ahead for you heart! (Not really apparent until late Nov.) Sunday to dawn Tuesday brings this romantic streak — a bit suffocated Sunday, much better Monday. Tackle chores and protect your daily health Tuesday to mid-afternoon Thursday (PST) — a good, productive period. Both agreement and opposition, pitfall and opportunity, come Thursday afternoon to Saturday night. Exciting and lucky meetings occur; so do deceptive or unsupported “sweet fantasies.”

virgo icon  VIRGO:  Aug. 23-Sept. 22

This month is filled with paper work, errands, easy chores, travel, communications and casual acquaintances, Virgo. Now to January 6, avoid

belligerent people and sketchy venues. Same period, you can be hot to invest (or pursued by creditors!) — think first, analyze, then invest cautiously, a bit at a time. Your home remains affectionate, and now a lot of talk enters, but as January approaches indecision will enter also. So discuss home changes, the future, etc., but wait until mid-December onward to make firm plans. Remember this Sunday to dawn Tuesday (PST) when domestic matters are top priority. (Sunday’s difficult; Monday much better for action here.) Tuesday morning to mid-afternoon Thursday brings a mild, mellow good luck in romance, creative projects, and the pursuit of beauty and pleasure. Tackle chores Thursday eve to Saturday night. Eat, dress sensibly. You’ll accomplish, but be wary, slow Saturday, when misconceptions or disruptions can come.

libra icon  LIBRA:  Sept. 23-Oct. 22

Collect money, Libra. Buy/sell, guard possessions, read and learn, and, if desired, chase a casual love situation. Your physical comfort is good. You end two months of disfavour or impatience by higher-ups, including parents, Sunday. This starts a secondary trend lasting until early January, of socializing, hoping, flirting and fun. If single, you might meet a future mate in a group, now to January, or again mid-April to mid-June ’25. Work is slow and onerous until May ’25 — you perform better at home than “downtown.” Communications are affectionate this week, lively and informative now to January. These, and errands and paperwork, are highlighted Sunday to dawn Tuesday (PST) — Sunday’s mixed but overall a bit difficult; Monday’s successful. Head for home, family Tuesday to mid-afternoon Thursday. A good, productive interval. Romance, beauty, pleasure, creative and risk-taking urges, teaching children — these fill Thursday late afternoon to Saturday night. Charge ahead until early Saturday (2 am PST) — after this, illusion, disruption spoil the scene.

scorpio icon  SCORPIO:  Oct. 23-Nov. 21

You remain at the top of your game, Scorpio. Energy, physique, looks, charisma, effectiveness — all are strong, best of the year. So get out, see and be seen, state your case, make proposals/appeals, start significant projects. (But realize a slow-down and mistake-prone period arrives Nov. 25 to Dec. 15. Time your plans, actions accordingly.) Sunday starts two months during which bosses and VIPs will be temperamental, have little patience, so gear up your diplomatic side.  Your money luck remains mildly good this week. You are becoming more likely to invest or chase sex now to early January — a “re-examination” will affect this late Nov. to mid Dec. Money and sex are highlighted Sunday to dawn Tuesday — Sunday’s “iffy,” so be cautious. Monday’s benevolent (but won’t help romance nor “gambles”). Errands, paper work, communications fill mid-week, in a mildly beneficial way. Head for home Thursday pm to Saturday night. Hug the kids, tidy the garden, etc. Careful Saturday, when sweet illusions and personality   quirks interfere.

sagittarius icon  SAGITTARIUS:  Nov. 22-Dec. 21

Continue to lie low, Sage. Rest, contemplate, plan, liaise with gov’t or head office, seek spirit, and do good deeds. An intense trend has made finances and sex “hot” the last 2 months. But Sunday stops that, and sparks intensity in your intellectual, travel, legal, creative, philosophical, educational and loving side, now to early January. You remain attractive to others this week (partly because you’e being unusually nice) and conversations begin about your ambitions or your “partnership” outlook. It wouldn’t be a surprise if you found a mate now to January, but it would be a big surprise if you don’t by/before June ’25! You’ve been delaying and delaying about fixing up, cleaning your home — next week through May ’25 will spur you to do everything to improve your nest. Sunday to Tuesday dawn (PST) injects you with a shot of energy — so contact people, get things done. Monday’s better than Sunday. Midweek, chase $, buy/sell, hug an “easy friend,” and/or study, learn. All’s well. But Thursday afternoon to Saturday night sings a different song: errands, paperwork, trips, communications. They meet a “fired up” person Thursday, go well Friday, and encounter illusion and disruption Saturday. Have fun, but remain alert.

capricorn icon  CAPRICORN: Dec. 22-Jan. 20

Wishes and hopes do come true, Cap! These weeks (to late Nov.) boost your popularity, optimism, social delights, and romantic potential. Two months of hot or intense relationships end Sunday, to bring 2 months of intense, impulsive financial action, intimacy/lust, medical and lifestyle situations. (It will be a good time, generally, for surgery.) A thread private feelings, of wanting to retreat or remain “unnoticed” still exists, and winds its way through November. But this is much smaller than the instinct to join, to play and flirt. You’ll feel this need for quietude/retreat Sunday to dawn Tuesday (PST). Sunday’s difficult, but Monday promises success in liaising with civil servants or management types. Your energy and charisma soar Tuesday to mid-afternoon Thursday. Start something, plunge ahead, all is “workable.” Collect money, buy/sell, grab a friendly lover, or memorize something Thursday afternoon to Saturday night. Careful Saturday — don’t overpay, or buy a lemon. Illusion, untrustworthy electronics, play a role.

Aquarius icon  AQUARIUS:  Jan. 21-Feb. 18

This is your month of ambition, career, prestige relations and worldly status, Aquarius. Work smart, not hard, to impress higher-ups. Money is still tight, but you begin to solve/resolve this situation mid-November (next week) until late May next year. (Gov’t or an organization might be involved.) Sunday starts two months of fiery relationships, wth lots of verbal back-and-forth. This can spark hot attractions — and fights. (One who “assaults” you with attention might have marriage on his/her mind.) You’ve been optimistic since mid-October, and that continues this week. Now, you might become newly optimistic about a romantic possibility — with a Gemini (romance) or Virgo (sex) — until almost mid-January. At the least, you’ll be talking with a great group of friends. This describes Sunday to dawn Tuesday this week (PST). Sunday’s friendly but difficult; Monday’s friendly and successful (but don’t chase $, nor spend). Retreat, find quietude, rest and plan Tuesday to mid-afternoon Thursday — a mild, benevolent interval. Your energy and pizzazz bounce back Thursday pm to Saturday night. Get out, see and be seen (especially by the boss) and start projects. But slow to caution Saturday daytime, when illusion and disruption could undermine your family and/or monetary goals.

Pisces icon  PISCES:  Feb. 19-March 20

The main accent remains on far travel, international affairs, law, learning, philosophy, profound ideas, and gentle love, Pisces. Now is the time to settle inner disputes, because you’ll see the “truth” more easily. Your romantic sector has been on fire (whether you were or not) for two months. Sunday ends that, and starts two months of intense, hard, but lucrative work. Health-wise, avoid caustic chemicals, fire, sharp tools, and quick changes in temperature. Higher-ups still favour you this week, but then (to early January) they will want you to talk, to explain your efforts and your projects; they might even bring in a competitor to “up your game.” (Don’t worry, the competitor will falter.) Your ambitions and career are in focus Sunday (difficult) Monday (smooth, fortunate) and Tuesday to dawn (careful, impressions wrong). Your popularity rises Tuesday  to mid-afternoon Thursday — optimism, friendly flirts/affairs, social joys, entertainment and a happy heart bless you. Retreat, find a restful place, contemplate and plan, deal with gov’t or institutions Thursday pm to Saturday night. All’s well. but be cautious Saturday, when sweet confusion sets up disruptive conditions.

THE END.

AFTERAMBLE:

Energy flows into the material and turns to energy again, and nothing is lost; the universe remains as it always has been, while evolving. When I was younger and even middle-aged my magic existence seemed endless. My flame of desire burned constantly  – or I should not say constantly but intermittently, yet so many times and in so many different clutches that at times when one excitement began to fade, a new one leapt in. One dream to replace the last, each one different. When things burn, they leave an ash, and a lifetime of burning has left me with a pile of ashes so deep that I sometimes struggle to wade through it. Fires don’t thrive  in ash, especially not ashes sodden with regret. (I read once that the biggest, most common regret folks in the old age home had, was over things they had not done. In my case, it’s more about things I did do.) (There is a Tarot card in the Rider deck, 5 of Cups, that portrays regret: it shows how this stance blinds one to opportunities and the future — and, in the tarot, “blocks” the way home.)
(This bold typeface, btw, is a mistake — can’t seem to correct it.)

What is the i-cloud? I imagine it is some kind of state-of-the art storage extender, but I don’t have a clue how it works, nor even how to use it. AI will require a different kind of storage, and cloud operators might become obsolete. — Though if their internal passions continue to burn with vitality and creativity, relatively unscathed (but traumatized?) by the collapse of their work environment, the data warehousing giants, if nimble, will morph to embrace the new demands of AI storage, and profit from them —  not even demands so much, as a necessity, or a creation, for it is such unimaginable now except, perhaps, to those who are working in that direction.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: to turn crime away, they must go into the prisons and teach every incarcerated soul how to be a father. (Mothers I won’t mention, as I don’t know them.)

***

Beginner’s luck: A few months ago, I had 3 pens in my pocket. They were identical, cheap BiC pens, one red, one blue, and a black. For some reason,I just took a guess at what colour the first one I pulled out would be. I was correct, then and ten times after, with 1 “error.” So 10 out of 11. I patted myself on the back, “Yep, I’m really going to shock and impress the world; I’m becoming a provable psychic!”

Beginner’s luck works because the first time we try an unfamiliar game or gamble, we know little about anything: how to act, decide, consequences, etc. So our subconscious takes over, and the subconscious can defeat any poker shark. Our subconscious, if it was to reach deep enough, can connect to other subconsciouses. This is an area I’d call the “light unconscious.” Something that can do this, has an almost unbeatable advantage; it senses others’ expressions and reactions more deeply than we can consciously. A subconscious entity playing with, say, seven poker players, is like an adult playing with a bunch of three-year-olds.

The subconscious can foretell outcomes — why, how, I don’t know. Someone told me that a group of scientists or psychologists, whatever, had stated that the subconscious was 90 per cent negative, and therefor dangerous. But all my experience with the subconscious demonstrates that it is a benevolent “entity,” or more correctly, part of our consciousness that aids rather than impedes or sabotages our actions.

So, when we first do something, such as first play poker, often we win, because we have surrendered to our subconscious. We don’t rationally know how to bet on this card, so we just follow our hunch (hunches are one way the subconscious communicates with us). That hunch is built on the subconscious’ abilities.

I was sitting on my roof again today, and thought I’d do the experiment again, hopefully to confirm. It was a complete reversal. I only guessed right 3 in 11 times. But this time I was familiar with the game, so I let my conscious mind take over. A mistake. The conscious mind can’t predict, can’t remember every minute detail, every micro-action. But the subconscious can remember the order in which the pens were originally haphazardly shoved together into my pocket, and every move in and out since then — by colour, or by any other means not quickly discernible to the ego’s eye. (*) The ego and the conscious mind are inseparable, except when the conscious mind seeks/finds humility. I know this is old fashioned. The conscious mind likes to be in control; the subconscious, being part of the same being and even same consciousness, accedes to this control, it seems, quite naturally and placidly. It knows its role just as the unconscious knows its; only the conscious mind wrestles with roles and identities, with beliefs and ideas. The subconscious (probably at its surface-most level) sees ideas, beliefs and identities as things, vibrant, living things, but things.

So the conscious mind, determined to be in control, determined to determine an outcome, takes over and, not realizing its benefits, squelches the subconscious into “silence.” (No hunches for you today. And no Beginner’s Luck!)

(*) Notice that this story does not support a psychic thesis, but one of minute detail perfectly remembered.

We can also call the subconscious an entity, or an angel, or “psychic,” or spirit, or God, God in the sense that all is God, some manifestations more apparently than others. When we meditate and channel, are we dipping into the subconscious? I’m not sure, but I know that in communicating with my guide, Nima, I’m likely communicating with my subconscious. However, little of this matters much. As Nima said, it makes no difference what we call it (except that our labels can prevent further knowledge). God, subconscious, it doesn’t matter what we call it; it simply is.
