PREAMBLE:
As noted last week, Mercury retro is over, so we can all start new projects, relationships and major purchases.
WEEKLY FORECAST:
ARIES: March 21-April 19
The focus remains on — in fact, doubles up on — profound thoughts, religion/philosophy, law, far travel, international affairs, higher learning, and media/publishing, Aries. This is a great time to apply for university, visit another country, etc. (But don’t apply Monday, before 5 pm PST.) You are released from someone’s “hold” on you. Sunday’s quiet, restful, domestic — but much is going on in a fortunate way, for the home/family. Think domestic, then act. Romance and creative urges, beauty and pleasure, and a winning streak, enter Sunday eve through Tuesday. However, these things may have a bumpy start Monday, despite beautiful feelings. Tuesday is not a lot better late night (nerves, disruption). Tackle chores Wednesday to dawn Friday (PST). Wednesday is a little disruptive. Your luck is mixed Thursday/Friday – some obstacles, but some nice things also. A secret affair might be brewing. Relationships, fresh horizons, opportunities, and opposition, arise, Friday daytime, Saturday. Now love, if it’s to be, shows itself. However, there’s a strong fantasy/mistaken motives influence, so be realistic and cautious.
TAURUS: April 20-May 20
Two weeks left, Taurus, of deep diving, secrets and investigations or research, valuable information, major finances, sexual Temptations, power-plays, and medical and lifestyle decisions/commitments. Remember, every commitment has a consequence. In this area now, you have strength and energy, impulse and a bit of recklessness, and affection and mild good luck. Mostly a successful combination! Sunday is great for sharing information, messaging, short trips and visits, and paperwork. But quit at suppertime (PST) when an interval of rest, quietude and domesticity takes over — through Tuesday. DON’T invest nor commit to anything/anybody Monday. This whole week is rather jumbled with little surprises and incompatibilities popping up here and there. There is good luck, but it is so mixed with the difficult that you have to be very nimble and alert to cues. Wednesday to dawn Friday brings romantic notions, creative surges, pleasure, and beauty. Tackle chores Friday/Saturday. Eat, dress sensibly.
GEMINI: May 21-June 20
The emphasis remains on relationships, opportunities, public appearances, and fresh horizons for the next two weeks, Gemini. You might meet someone difficult to understand, who is a combination of sweet and sour, who raises your hopes yet restricts you also. By late week, a new tone of conversation enters and perhaps creates new relations. Be diplomatic this week and next — argument will be met with argument. Sunday daytime is good for shopping. This evening through Tuesday promotes short trips, reports, anecdotes, paperwork, communications and casual friends. Your luck is jumbled here, good and bad. The fact that describes the entire week, so be alert and flexible. You can get lots done, but don’t confront the boss nor the government. Head for home Wednesday to Friday dawn (PST). Here, too, your luck is mixed — disruptions with chores, but the powers that be favour you. Friday/Saturday might melt your heart with romantic notions. Two possibilities here: 1) that your pursuit of someone is pure fantasy based on a marriage motive, or 2) that you dive into romance, and come up happy!
CANCER: June 21-July 22
Two more weeks of drudgery, Cancer. Might as well get those chores done — this will free you for exciting times to come late December into January. On the good side, this is the last week of really hard work. In addition, coworkers treat you nicely now. This week is a bit of a rollercoaster ride — good luck mingles with frustrations. If you have been involved in a half hearted romance, then the communication tends to fade by late week onward. Your energy and charisma are tops Sunday — be bold, take a step forward, start a project or contact someone important to you. This evening (8 pm PST) through Tuesday brings money, buying/selling, casual sex urges, and rote learning — but be practical, don’t aim too high. Communications, short trips, paperwork, errands, reports, details fill Wednesday to dawn Friday (PST). Rely on your intuition, it serves you better than logic during this interval. Head for home Friday/Saturday. Hug the spouse and kids, garden, repair and repaint… Or just relax, read a good book and contemplate your life thus far. Finally, two days without an obstacle!
LEO: July 23-Aug. 22
Ah, romance, Leo! Recently, you have been impulsive about romance, but last week, a sweet affectionate influence entered, so love is kind of sweet and sour. But during this week, the planet of communications — and of your fondest hopes, also enters the romance arena. If you’re single, you face a lot of love opportunities. However, the sexual side seems a bit slow or reluctant (until next February). If you are not in the romantic sweepstakes, this week and next are deeply creative, and reward you when you take risks or race/teach children. That said, the present week is no picnic — good luck mingles with bad, breakthroughs with frustrations. So be nimble and lighthearted. You will be tired most of Sunday, which is great for resting, contemplating and planning. Your energy and charisma shoot upward Sunday eve (7 pm PST) through Tuesday. Again, watch out for obstacles, but in where you see a successful pathway. Do not seek intimacy, Sunday or Monday daytime. Pursue money, buy/sell, collect and pay, hug a sometime lover, or read to learn, Wednesday to dawn Friday (PST). Higher ups might surprise you Wednesday (and to some degree all week). A hint of successful intimacy late Wednesday/early Thursday. Friday and Saturday bring short trips, errands, paperwork, gossip, and other communications. Beware sexual or financial “fantasies.”
VIRGO: Aug. 23-Sept. 22
The emphasis on home, family, security and mother nature continues for two more weeks, Virgo. In November, your home might’ve been contentious or somehow disrupted. But in December, although the disruption factor remains, another influence enters — a sweet, mildly lucky influence. And this Thursday, yet another influence enters the home zone: Mercury, your planet, which gives you decisiveness and courage. (BTW, the “contentious” influence mentioned above, could also be signalling a very important investment, most likely in your home or in real estate.) Your partnership and marriage sector, which had been empty and left you free, now “calls you back” to a former partner or opportunity — this won’t last long, only to late Jan., early Feb. so act quickly if you want to take advantage. Sunday is hopeful, social and happy. This night (7 pm PST) throw Tuesday finds you tired, contemplative. Usually, this would be a good time to contact government or management types but if you want to do this wait until after business hours Monday. Your energy and charisma rise Wednesday to Friday dawn. Get out, get things done, but realize your luck is very much up and down — good for partnerships, bad for legal, wedding, and far travel actions. Chase money Friday/Saturday. These are the first two days that don’t contain a major obstacle! However, guard against a fight or disagreement that could derail an agreement or relationship.
LIBRA: Sept. 23-Oct. 22
Two more weeks of travel, paperwork, communications and general restlessness, Libra. In this sector, impulsivity and friction, affection and grace mingle. But the friction element will leave next week, whereas a communication/love element enters late this week. This could hint at wedding potential. This week is not easy, as obstacles and frustrations are as numerous as lucky moments and easy progress. At least one job from the past – probably two, even four — remain to be completed, and they’re tapping on your shoulder now to next February. Your career luck is at a decade high, although delays prevail until mid March. (Then to July, you soar!) Sunday is for career — dress “up,” show talents to higher-ups. Sunday night (7 pm PST) through Tuesday, brings friends, popularity, social delights, flirtation, optimism, and entertainment. Avoid work or employment or health communications. One who seems like a potential partner — and is assertive — has baggage. Retreat from the fray, find a quiet place to rest, contemplate and plan Wednesday to Friday dawn. Work will go well, but investigations and investments will not. Your energy and charisma and clout rise nicely Friday/Saturday. Get out, start significant projects, gain allies, etc. BUT DON’T start a coworker romance nor communicate about your job or health.
SCORPIO: Oct. 23-Nov. 21
The emphasis lies on money and possessions, Scorpio, for two more weeks. (As education and sex are considered “possessions,” they are emphasized also.) Lately, money has flowed to you, but might have flowed through you also. Last week brought a mildly lucky, affection-tinged money trend, to last a few more weeks, and Thursday starts a three week influence that favours investments, inheritances, and your partner’s money. So, money, money, money. A wide, vast, subtle and mild influence (now to February) promotes or revives romantic vibes with someone. In travel, love, law and learning, you are in a lucky space until July — and this Sunday. Be ambitious Sunday night (7 pm PST) through Tuesday, but realize this whole week through Thursday presents both good luck and big obstacles. So show off your skills and support the boss. But steer clear of mixing money with romance or creative efforts. Happiness, popularity and social delights, flirtation, and optimism fill your heart Wednesday through Friday dawn. Retreat, rest, contemplate, plan, seek advice and liaise with government or head office Friday/Saturday. All’s good — but AVOID a money-love showdown.
SAGITTARIUS: Nov. 22-Dec. 21
This is your time, Sage! Your clout and charisma, your energy and assertiveness are at a yearly high, so start important projects, gain allies, and impress anyone you can! However, realize also that this week is filled with potholes and disruptions that are pretty well equal to good, fortunate aspects. So be nimble and alert. If you suspect something’s wrong with a person or a situation, you’re probably right. You are very magnetic now, with your romantic planet in your own sign along with Venus, the planet of love. Later this week, Thursday, your planet of ambition and partnership/marriage will enter your sign for the rest of December. Although the emphasis is on you, many of the aspects promote relations with others. You might have thought you were escaping your home, but something drags you back there until next February — a chore you’ve left incomplete? Sunday is quite fortunate — you might discover a good investment, or contemplate a good change in your life, have minor surgery done, or do valuable research. This night (7 pm PST onward) through Tuesday brings gentle love, intellectual enlightenment, far travel, or international interests, law and media. Don’t try to harmonize romance with domestic factors (Monday). Be ambitious Wednesday through Friday dawn. Don’t let a domestic upset affect your workday performance. Friday/Saturday, bring popularity, social joys, flirtations, optimism, and entertainment. Both days are benevolent, so have fun! BUT again, don’t mix home and romance, and in general beware of a romantic fantasy that you think is real.
CAPRICORN: Dec. 22-Jan. 20
Two more weeks of quietude and low energy, Cap. This is your time of year to rest and recharge your emotional, physical and mental batteries. Contemplate your past, how you got here, and how you plan to go forward. Liaise with government and management types. This week is very jumbled luck-wise, so remain alert, be willing to change horses or pathways when walls arise. You remain very lucky in relationships until July, although progress may be stalled until mid March. Keep the faith, relations and opportunities will work out, succeed, in ’26. Sunday accents these very things: relations and opportunities — in a productive, fortunate way. Sunday night (7 pm PST) through Tuesday accents major finances/investments, sexual intimacy, medical procedures, lifestyle, changes, and valuable information. But remember, be cautious. Beware gossip, slander. Wednesday to dawn Friday emphasizes your intellectual side, and promotes far travel, international affairs, law, higher learning, philosophy, and media — and gentle love (for humanity?). Again, caution is advised. Friday/Saturday are pretty free of frustrations. Your home, family, Mom nature, garden, real estate, stomach and soul are mildly blessed. Avoid belligerent people; don’t converse w/them.
AQUARIUS: Jan. 21-Feb. 18
Two more weeks of fun and frolic, Aquarius. Optimism, flirtations, entertainment and social joys fill your days. However, many tough aspects provide obstacles and potholes this week. So proceed with some caution, especially in practical affairs. An Aries, perhaps a Libra play key roles, and now a Gemini — any one of these can fulfill your wishes. (The Aries will be gone by next week, unless you “engage” him/her sooner.) Your income/money interest turns to the past, or to something incomplete. Lots of work (to next July) but you’ll get it done. Sunday emphasizes this work, and gives you a lucky boost toward progress. Sunday night (7 pm PST) through Tuesday brings relationships, opportunities and opposition (so be diplomatic) relocation, themes, and public appearances. Some good stuff here, but do not mix hopes/friendships with domestic/dollars stuff. Sex, power plays, major finances, lifestyle changes and medical issues are in the forefront Wednesday to Friday dawn. Money is better than health. Profound thoughts, international affairs, law, higher learning, philosophy, and media fill Friday/Saturday. This is a smooth, easy interval. Accept or offer acceptance, love.
PISCES: Feb. 19-March 20
Be ambitious, Pisces. This week and next emphasize your career, worldly standing and prestige relationships. The present week is no picnic: obstacles are at least equal to open pathways, and both are so mixed together that it’s hard to know when to act. You will have to be nimble and jump between wrong directions and right directions. (Use your intuition, that “spidey feeling.”) On the plus side, in ambitious striving, obstacles are often as useful as not. Also good news: six weeks of criticism and impatience from higher-ups will end next Monday, leaving a good luck planet (Venus) and your “opportunity” planet (Mercury) in your career sector — both bring opportunities, and partnership prospects. Romance is still alive, but “on hold” until next March. Sunday is romantic and favours you. Good for creative and speculative stuff. This night (7 pm PST) through Tuesday brings chores and health concerns. Don’t challenge a boss or authority figure Monday night. Work early and fully Tuesday, as the evening brings disruptions. Relationships, opportunities and opposition, public appearances, contracts/agreements and dispute, relocation themes — these fill Wednesday to dawn Friday. Yes, remain cautious. Friday/Saturday bring secrets, research, valuable knowledge, big finances, lust for sex or power — you can succeed here, but reject anyone who wants to rule over you — this person is not to be trusted.
The End.
AFTERAMBLE:
November 30, 1782, the treaty of Versailles between Great Britain and America was signed. Just as many projects have a number of stages, and each might be given some astrological significance based on the time of change between stages, so a nation can have various charts.
In general, I use the 13 ° of Cancer chart for the US. based on its declaration of independence, which was created July 4, 1776. But it was not signed until at least August. Unfortunately, that July 4 chart has no time of day. In fact, even the day is in question, as it was signed over a number of days by different Founders. (As for the U.S. Constitution, it was created in Virgo — Sept. 17, 1787 — ratified on the Gemini/Cancer cusp — July 21, 1788 — and became effective in Pisces — March 4, 1789. So is the U.S. Cancer, Virgo, or Pisces?)
At least one well respected astrologer who specialized in city and country charts, Marc Penfield, has suggested that the US has Sagittarius rising, due to its character and its citizens. The US is a nation of laws, it is impulsive and volatile, its playground is the whole world, and its citizens are expansive, generous, volatile and enthusiastic. It is a mixture of every culture in the world. It is a beacon of freedom and democracy, its core ideas. It grows angry quickly, but forgives quickly, and is very willing to make friends of former enemies. All these are Sagittarian qualities. The country itself, its name, starts with U — a Sagittarius letter. But for many, the Treaty of Versailles mentioned above, formally ended the war with Britain in 1782, and could be a valid national birth chart point. The Treaty chart is indisputably Sagittarius, with the Sun at 8 or 9 degrees Sage.

When I was a kid, I had a few minor run-ins with the law. But each time I didn’t protest or declare my innocence or fight or try to run away. I just stood there and watched. And in every instance, they just let me go.
I don’t know how this connects to that saying of Christ, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Perhaps my passivity sparked their empathy. But if we put it in reverse, it does perhaps fit a different situation. Not “I am doing to others what they did to me,” which is payback good or bad, but instead, I am going to do good to everyone — a far different thing.
I used to fear spiritual forces/areas. When I was 20, my best friend blew his head off. He was immersed in tarot and meditation, and believed he could talk to Jesus and eventually thought he was Jesus… As a result, I have been very wary of psychic zones. I once was waiting for a cab on the sidewalk. There weren’t many people around; it was a Sunday downtown. A man walked by, or rather I should say trembled by. His head shook almost uncontrollably, and his legs were stiff and slow. I felt I could go up to him and cure him if he would let me.
This wasn’t just idle paranoia fantasy on my part; I had seen others healed and was healed myself of a supposedly incurable Bell’s palsy by someone’s healing hands. (The Doctor said it would disappear in six weeks. The very next day, Maria Sarizon took my head in her hands, traced and shook me all over, and that night the palsy disappeared. I felt I could cure this poor guy, or at least lesson his difficulties. But I didn’t I didn’t move. I was afraid if I went and said such a thing or tried such a thing I would be labelled insane and thrown in the looney bin.
I know this is rambling, But I suspect there’s some underlying connection between these states: ordinary/physical, spiritual/manipulative, and spiritual/karma.
There is another state, which I seem to be in now. I am starting to learn more and more that being courteous and showing little kindnesses somehow improves your own life. For the last little while, people have been spontaneously nice to me. At first, I blamed it on my old age. But now I begin to see that I’m receiving karmic payback for my change in attitude in general, from snarly to gently smiling. (With occasional outbursts of anger and temper. Funny how that works.)

When I was young, I felt scorn towards seniors. 1/5 of my readers will know what I’m talking about, and why.
Now that I am a senior, when I see the young I feel an admiration for humanity, with envy for their youth and fear for their future — although I see its brightness, with a certain kind of joy.
I think the joy might just be at the miracle, that it keeps recurring. An infinite miracle.

The trouble with nature is that it doesn’t fit humanity’s need for straight lines and logical accountability. To the average civilized person, dirt is something to be washed out of our clothes with soap and water. But dirt is the foundation of our life; it is a complex, fruitful layer in which anything can grow. If the Sun is the father and the Moon is the mother, then dirt is the bed they lay on, and their fruits in the trillions gives us the ground we stand on, and the existence we enjoy.
When societies become too clean, two free of dirt, there are many advantages – arts, literature, technology tend to advance more quickly. But there are also disadvantages. Sophisticated societies seem, over time, to lose a certain energy. They lose range and scope, and the dramas become more and more narrow, focussing on what would be subtle differences to a more primitive audience.
