Shakespeare said it: when God wants to destroy a man, first he drives him mad. If you substitute “the Democratic Party” for “man,” you can draw conclusion as to its future. Actually, I think there will be a big split, with two different futures emerging, one containing the squad types, and the other leaning more toward centrist positions.

What a great species we are! We began on our feet, and now we can buoy ourselves upon the air at will, flying faster than any bird.
Now we have gone one level beyond that, where there is no air, and everything depends on gravity and thrust.
And we are trying to create a living environment for a human in an almost totally hostile environment. (The Moon project.) The purpose of this, of course, is to study other bodies and their minerals and geologic histories and possible life. At present, these envisioned environments are only for scientists and related professionals.
However, I wonder if there is a deeper underlying reason for creating self sustaining environments in hostile territories. I’m not sure what it is.

No, I don’t believe in a personal God, nor in God as a personality. Personal is too complex yet not complex enough, and too imperfect, to reliably detect any trail in the corporeal world.
Maybe God is a point, a God head or an expanding universe or the miracle of existence of consciousness. I used to think God was karma, but now I think karma is just with everything else put together, God.
It makes it kind of hard, though, to beseech or pray. But oddly, not to rant. When I rant in fury I go straight to God. I fume: God why are you doing this to me? God why are you being such an asshole? (I regret these words about 5 minutes later, and I do apologize.) Yet, when I pray, especially when I’m trying to suck up for something, I never know who to address, Jesus, or God, or my spiritual entity? I’ve even sometimes asked karma to do me a favour, though I know all such favours, even if they existed, would need to be paid back.

I am basically interested in the practical uses of astrology, for instance, in finances and buying or building a home, having a baby, career and love, relationships and such matters.
I will give my opinion on spirituality, karma, and such matters, but my advice will predominantly be from a practical rather than spiritual (or what is called humanitarian) viewpoint.
The Moon’s north and south nodes, often called the lunar nodes, seem to be intimately connected to karma. In recent traditional western astrology, the nodes have been characterized in terms of opposites: good and bad, white and black, good decisions and mistakes.
It’s easy to see how this concept came about: when the moon orbits the Earth, it doesn’t follow the ecliptic path. (The ecliptic is the Earth’s equator extended out into space indefinitely.) Instead, the moon spends half its orbit below the ecliptic and half above. This gives us the conception of light and dark, the idea being that when the moon dips below the Earth, ecliptic or horizon, it travels through dark space. When above, through lighted space.
The lighted section gives us light, transparency, warmth, heat, and growth, energy, etc. Nothing is hidden. Because we can see everything we can deal with our environment wisely. The darkened section gives us poor vision, introspection, somnambulism, or the ignoring of problems/emergencies. It is also a place where enemies might lurk, where because it is dark, dangers might come too close before we are aware of them.
The lunar nodes do not circle the Earth every 28 days. They do circle the Earth every 18 years. From this, you might see cycles in history. More importantly for us, the lunar nodes contain the idea of shade and light from the moons off- ecliptic orbit, but they process/ express it differently: the darkness crawls around the zodiac, sign by sign, but it takes 18 months to travel through one sign; simultaneously, the light side orbits the Earth but at the same rate of 18 months per sign. The north and south nodes are exactly opposite each other, so they will always be found in opposing signs — e.g., Aries and Libra.
The node that represents the light side is called the north node; the south node rep’s the “dark side.” The nodes, by the way, travel backwards through the signs. For example, the north note will travel through Aries for 18 months, and during the same 18 months, the south note will travel through Libra, the opposite sign. 18 months later, Pisces will be the (north) light sign and Virgo the (south) dark side. In nine years, that North node will come into Libra, and the south node into Aries. So they switch every nine years.
Over time, I suppose, reward and punishment were added to the list of opposites and the lunar nodes were attached to karma. I haven’t really seen this in the literature, but on the other hand, I read very little, and even less that is astrological. Martin Schulman’s “Karmic Astrology” (Samuel Weiser, Inc., NY) is a great read on the Moon’s nodes. Other than him, I don’t know if anyone has attached the lunar notes to karma… Other than myself that is. For many years, even decades, I held that the south node represented bad karma, and the north node was the building of future good karma. I have backed off that conviction in recent years, partly due to observations.
I still believe that the southbound node does cause obstacles and problems requiring an almost superhuman strength to overcome. That occurred with President Trump, who started his 2024 campaign with the south node prominent. He was assaulted with biased lawsuits, crooked lawyers, AGs and judges — even guns — but he fought back and won. The karmic aspect of the south mode says he was destined to lose. So, obviously destiny can be overcome. For most of us, though, we are a 100 pound weakling fighting a 200 pound, hugely resourceful wrestler. Most of us just shrug our shoulders and submit.
(Interestingly, when Trump began his campaign under the malevolent eye of the south node, that node happened to be in Scorpio, Joe Biden’s Sun sign. Ultimately, the south node was there to punish Biden, through Trumps massive struggles.)
In general, my advice is not start projects nor relationships that stand on the sign the south node occupies. People who, for example, list their home for sale when the lunar south node is in their 4th (real estate) sector, wait and wait and wait for a sale, usually lower their price, and still wait…!
The worst way to handle the south node is to become angry, defensive, self-pitying, because that deepens and prolongs the effect of the south node. Accepting the blows that karma might issue, realizing that in some way we probably deserve this, almost immediately lightens the destruction or impact of the node. Perhaps this was part of what Jesus meant by saying the meek will inherit the Earth.
