START NOTHING:  5:52 pm Mon. to 7:15 am Tues., and 3:06 pm to 6:56 pm Thurs.

PREAMBLE:

ALL SIGNS: Do not enter any new relationships, projects, major changes or significant purchases before January 18, 2023. Until then, delays, indecision and second thoughts, missing supplies, misunderstood directions and other snafus will prevail, and could send even good projects over the edge into irrelevance. Instead, remain faithful to and protective of ongoing projects, situations and relationships. Opportunities, lovers and friends might return from the past. Judge whether to “join again” by how the first, former bond affected you. Buy groceries, pay bills, but avoid shopping for new shoes, clothes, car, computer, etc. (If it can make a difference in your life, leave it alone.)

***

Watch events around January 12 (say, 8th to 15th) (or in a wider view, the 5th to 24th). The U.S. “war degree” is activated, and tho’ I wouldn’t expect war so soon, these days hold hints of why and where America might go to war later in 2027 and 2028.

WEEKLY FORECASTS:

THE FORECASTS WILL BE SHORT THIS WEEK,  AS I HAVE TWO CORPORATE TAX RETURNS I MUST DO, SO LITTLE TIME…

aries icon  ARIES:  March 21-April 19

Start nothing new before Jan. 18, Aries. This easy week starts with romance (Sun./Mon.) and ends with relationship questions (suppertime Thurs. through Sat.) In-between (Tues. to Thurs.) chores need doing. Avoid love disruptions Sat. You’re starting to know what you want; soon, you’ll communicate it. Entire week is “ambitious.” You’ve just entered 5 very, very lucky months, esp. for “far” things, travel and learning — and love.

taurus icon  TAURUS:  April 20-May 20

Read the PREAMBLE above, Taurus. The general accent lies on big ideas, beliefs, learning, law, media and internationalism (including far travel, export/import). This fairly easy week runs from domestic bliss Sun./Mon. (more Sunday)  to a bunch of chores Thursday eve through Sat. In-between, Tuesday to late Thursday, offers pleasure, beauty, romance and creative success — careful with spending Tues. Ideas, beliefs, far distances dominate this week.

gemini icon  GEMINI:  May 21-June 20

The depths of life continue to call you, Gemini. Read the preamble above. A bit of research can reveal where the treasure lies — in love sex, finances, and lifestyle choices. This week moves from a restless, active, communicative Sun./Mon. To a romantic, creative, pleasure-prone Thursday night through Sat. In-between, Tuesday to suppertime Thursday, is prime time for rest, hugging the kids, repairs, gardening — but mostly rest. Your confusion/indecision about larger goals (marriage, wealth, relocation, etc.) starts to clear now — by late next week onward, to March, even to May, I urge you to pursue your goal(s) wholeheartedly and without delay. Best “method” — join one or two groups.

Cancer icon  CANCER:  June 21-July 22

Please read the PREAMBLE. The accent remains on relationships, far horizons, public dealings and “opportunities.” (I put that last word in quotation marks because before Jan. 18 only opportunities returning from the past are “valid” — brand new ones will fail.)

You can cement friendships now, or spark enmity, depending on your approach. Confusion or delays in your dealings with head office or gov’t, ends late week. Sun./Mon. bring shopping trips, income, lower level learning, perhaps a casual intimate embrace. Sunday easier. Midweek, Tuesday to suppertime (PST) Thursday brings errands, trips, communications and paperwork. All’s well! Thursday eve through Saturday steers you to your favourite place: home. (And kids, etc.)

Leo icon  LEO:  July 23-Aug. 22

Read the preamble above, Leo. The general accent remains on work, dependents, and minor health concerns. Eat, dress sensibly. Your wishes for the future have been scrambled, muddled a bit since last October, but now your vision clears, and you can start to “isolate” your prime wish (one that is very likely to come true) from “background noise.” Could involve a Gemini, Aries, maybe Sagittarius. Your energy soars Sun./Mon. Be a leader, esp. Sunday. Chase $, buy/sell, hug someone Tues.-Thurs. Communications, travel, paperwork, these fill Thursday night through Sat. A good, easy week!

virgo icon  VIRGO:  Aug. 23-Sept. 22

Read the PREAMBLE above, Virgo. The general accent does on romance, love, creativity, speculation, risk-taking, beauty, sports and pleasure. (Pleasure is as essential in this life as work.) It’s an easy week, so plunge in and enjoy. A former flame might figure prominently. Hesitation or delays over 1) an investment, lifestyle change or big financial action; or 2) taking a relationship to the intimate level — both “hesitations” end late this week. By late next week, you’ll be ready to fly to reward and significant action. Lie low, rest and ponder Sun./Mon. Your energy rises and charisma shines Tuesday to Thursday eve — give projects a push, impress people, call someone who attracts you. (But stay away from sex late Tuesday night.) Chase $ Thursday night through Saturday — shop, collect $, hug someone.

libra icon  LIBRA:  Sept. 23-Oct. 22

The main accent remains on home, family, Mother Nature and security. Get lots of rest, Libra. Your relationships have begun to grow into fortunate areas, and will continue so until mid-May. This week, your doubts and hesitations about a relationship dissolve, leaving you ‘bare and brave” enough to chase (or lure) a significant other. If single, the next 5 months could be “for life,” could bring you true love. But before you act or plan, read the PREAMBLE (above the Weekly Forecasts). Wishes come true, somewhat, Sun./Mon. Be social! But retreat Tuesday to Thursday suppertime (PST) — rest, ponder,  forgive, help the helpless. Your energy and popularity surge upward Thursday night through Sat. See and be seen, persuade someone to “your side.” All’s well, a good week!

scorpio icon  SCORPIO:  Oct. 23-Nov. 21

Read the PREAMBLE — it rules, no matter what else I say here. This is a smooth, easy week. The general focus lies on errands, trips, calls, paperwork, etc. Confusion about job changes (since last Oct.) dissipates now. By next week onward, you’ll make some decisions, actions, which take you clearly toward your goal, in work, health, sexual intimacy (pregnancy) lifestyle change, medical procedure, and/or finances. Don’t act too soon. Home, family are sweet. Sunday/Monday nudge you toward ambition — Sunday best. Wishes come true, popularity, optimism and social delights visit you, Tuesday to suppertime Thursday. (Avoid pushing for intimacy Tuesday night.) Retreat, lie low Thursday night through Sat. Ponder, forgive, seek advice — and sleep!

sagittarius icon  SAGITTARIUS:  Nov. 22-Dec. 21

Hi, Sage. Read the PREAMBLE first. Although the grey skies of indecision hover over you until January 18, you’ll begin to feel more certain even this week, in terms of partnership, union, love, business agreement, and a creative future. Still, wait, delay action until Jan. 20 onward. In some cases, a relationship between you and another, mildly dormant since last October, could flare up like a hot ember in a hay barn. Anyway, married or single, the 5 months ahead burst with good luck in romance, teaching kids, creative and sports activities. Messages flow affectionately. A former money source might appear. Sunday/Monday are broad-minded, travel-prone, and gently loving. Be ambitious mid-week, esp. Wednesday. From Thursday night through Sat., a dream could come true; your popularity and optimism rise; friends gather ‘round. But don’t insist on romance Saturday.

capricorn icon  CAPRICORN:  Dec. 22-Jan. 19

Read the PREAMBLE above, Cap. (Just before “Weekly Forecasts.”) You’re No. 1 in the zodiac this month, as your energy, clout and charisma hit a yearly zenith. But be slow to act on new ventures before Jan. 18. Your money picture looks good. Now to May, you have a superbly fortunate chance to sell and buy real estate. Keep your eyes open. Life’s secrets emerge Sun./Mon. — treasures lie deep, so dig in. A mellow, wise, legal mood comes Tuesday morn to Thursday eve: travel, learning, social rituals, cultural venues and gentle love prevail. Be ambitious Thursday night through Sat., but keep an eye on possible disruptions late Sat. A lovely week, Cap — with few problems and much satisfaction.

Aquarius icon  AQUARIUS:  Jan. 20-Feb. 18

Read the PREAMBLE above, Aquarius. You’re in the “weakest” part of your personal year, a time when you should get lots of sleep, and do a lot of pondering. Seek advice, forgive, and accept. You’ve been puzzled and stymied in romance (or a creative project) for over 2 months. Now (Thursday, technically) the delays and evasions end — for the next 2 months, romance could be fiery, intense, superb. You’ll “capture it” by travelling, communicating. In 2 months, a huge weight will be lifted from your shoulders. Sunday/Monday bring relationships, competing interests, opportunities (ONLY react to “old,” returning opportunities). A good interval, esp. Sunday. Tuesday morning to Thursday suppertime (PST) life’s depths, secrets, float to the surface , where you can use them — e.g., a financial tip or insight, a “signal” of requited lust, a new lifestyle idea. But don’t be “romantic” Tuesday night. A mellow, wise, gently loving mood steals over you Thursday night through Saturday. Possible sexual stress Sat. eve.

Pisces icon  PISCES:  Feb. 19-March 20

Read the PREAMBLE, Pisces (above the Weekly Forecasts). The general accent lies on hopes, optimism, popularity, socializing, light/friendly romance, and happiness! This is an easy, rewarding week, so open your arms to the world! You’ve been in a bit of a stew since October — convinced you need to take action on the home front, yet delayed/stymied at every turn. This Thursday those delays end. Now to March you can plow forward with domestic projects/improvements. Your money luck increases, now to mid-May — but don’t overspend on those domestic projects. Best action: engineer a pay raise before May — it will tend to “stick” for years to come. Sunday/Monday bring chores, perhaps mild health complaints, but overall a good result. Relationships heat up Tuesday to Thursday suppertime — an exciting meeting possible. Co-operation is as valuable as money — but don’t seek it after 5 pm (PST) Saturday.

THE END.

AFTERAMBLE:

It is pretty well accepted that  the government, the bureaucracy, is, in the majority of instances, less successful than private enterprise. The latter builds things more quickly and operates more efficiently because its motive is profit.  Sometimes this difference is stark. It’s rumoured that New York was trying to build an ice rink in central park or some such area and had been at it for two years and saw little progress. Along came DT, (says D.T.) he persuaded them somehow to let him do it, and the ice rink was built and outfitted in months. Maybe a true story, maybe not, but it fits the mould of the entrepreneur, the corner cutter and RiskTaker.

There is another reason the government is so much less successful than private enterprise. The government’s decisions are made by consensus, by committee research and discussion and committee recommendations and depending on the size of the project 2 to 20 meetings, all of them or at least the majority of them focussed on following the rules and remaining safe from disapproval. This kind of attitude and personality is an essential ingredient in civilization; but it only reflects part of our personality and environment. This process of development by committee lacks two things: 1) creativity and the creative spark that often finds solutions outside the box, or along unique or eccentric pathways. I suspect eccentric thinkers/report writers are

shunned to some degree by committee types. And 2) Committees operate on logic and known facts. Intuition is seldom honoured. Unfortunately this limits the breadth and the distance of the committee’s’ views in almost all cases.

This is where unforeseen consequences reside, sometimes contemporaneously, sometimes 100 years down the road. Now, bureaucracies do slowly evolve. So it may be that at some point, especially around the 23rd century, bureaucracies will recognize the importance of intuition and will embrace it. I see some evidence of it operating even now in the way diplomats and bureaucrats deal with each other and with the public. In many cases, politicians have an intuitive arm: their media manager.

But in general intuition finds a warmer home in private enterprise. I suspect half the businesses started in North America in any year were done so on impulse or some sort of inspiration, insight, wish, dream or some non-bureaucratic urge…
