ASTRAL REFLECTIONS

SEPTEMBER 29 – OCTOBER 3,  2009

	All times/dates are PDT. 
	Well, the September 15 Saturn-Uranus “opposition” (meaning one planet was 180 degrees from the other, or on opposite sides of the zodiac) raised only a dust-storm. The markets did not fall, the economy didn’t collapse, nothing happened to rival the first opposition, which triggered the credit freeze and the collapse of Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers, et al, nor the second opposition last February, that signalled the auto bankruptcies. There has been a great commotion about the American health plan restructuring. But overall, there seems less shock and  awe than in 2007 and 2008 (the prior oppositions). This is often the case – when a “bad” aspect repeats itself, it is usually less malevolent the second/ third time around. That’s God’s grace, or our ability to learn and adjust. (Relief at this opposition’s end is the spur to the speculative binge I said might occur October 09 to next  June.)
       This “softening” effect occurs when the planet Saturn travels through our own Sun sign. The first time Saturn does this, he seems to bring grief and woe – or simply a two-and-a-half-year darkening of skies, as he makes us pay for all our mistakes,  readjust, and move on (hopefully along a healthier, wiser and more solid path). That first passage can occur at birth, or any time up to about 29-30 years old. (Children born with Saturn in their Sun sign at birth are often thinner, with heavy bones. As children, they like to hang around adults, and they tend to mature into serious, responsible adults.)
       The second time Saturn comes – always about  29-30 years after the first time – he isn’t so hard on us, probably because we’ve learned from the first cosmic spanking three decades before, and have committed fewer foolish mistakes. We find being wise and accountable (and getting serious about life) isn’t so hard. This second passage often coincides with redoubled efforts to climb the career ladder, or the assumption of homeownership, parenthood, or some other big responsibility. When the third passage comes, Saturn gently rewards us for the hard work of our lives, and nudges us to withdraw from hard work. The earliest this third passage or “transit” can occur is 56 years after birth, and it can occur as late as the  age of 82. 
       VIRGOs have recently undergone Saturn’s passage through their Sun sign – it stays there until October 29. Then it’s LIBRA’s turn, until October 2012. (Though you Virgos will get a brief taste of Saturn again April to July of 2010. Some unfinished  business will return, perhaps involving children, your creative talents, or a romance.) For you Librans, the 2010 – 2012 years will focus on getting your act together in family, real estate, home, retirement, birth, and similar zones. Your property situation will change soon, maybe November 09 or August 2010. )

Aries   March 21-April 19
The wait is over – by Tuesday, decisiveness, quick responses from others and the ability to charge ahead without subtle hindrance return. Decisiveness might lag a bit, especially in work, health and machinery zones. But others are swift to answer or help – or challenge – you. Take that last seriously, as the weeks ahead give others the upper hand. Domineering tactics will backfire, especially in the home. If you’re gentle, friendly and eager to merge, others will embrace  your cause, or give “definitely a possibility” glances to your romantic overtures. Opportunities hover. Make friends Monday/Tuesday!

Taurus   April 20-May 20
Delays and indecision end, especially in romantic, creative, pleasure/vacation, beauty, child-related and speculative ventures. However, the weeks ahead emphasize your work and career zones --  start important projects (or at least get going again) Monday and Tuesday. Bright rewards await those willing to change direction (even careers) or to invest in their own success. Buy machinery of any kind Tuesday to Friday mid-day. Sunday’s gentle and loving.  Happiness, social joys, flirtations and optimism bless Wednesday eve to Friday. Drive carefully, protect health Saturday.

Gemini   May 21-June 20
Delays and indecision end, especially in family, property, agricultural/garden, child-related, retirement and security zones. Take a gamble – you’re winning! Seek love, romance – overcome hesitation. (You singles could meet a future mate this year. The fiascos of 1996-2008 are over.) Sunday’s sexy, could attract you to someone (or to an investment) – but it might be a little early to act. Contemplate how you are going to change your life. Monday/Tuesday might bring a love attraction (you’ll think it’s less at first) or international travel, educational or legal developments. These will “mature” mid-October. 

Cancer   June 21-July 22
Delays end Tuesday, in mail, communications, travel, and home, domestic and property zones. There’s still a “wait” for work/health developments, but only for two more weeks. Sunday brings smooth, easy relationships. Agreements will “protect” your future stability. Sex, money and mysteries form a triangle Monday/Tuesday – a lucky one, especially Tuesday. Get going this day, pursue financial re-arrangements, investments, a sexy person, a research or “detective” project, a lifestyle change or a health diagnosis. You’ll learn the  truth, and be glad you did. These days swell with profit!

Leo   July 23-Aug. 22
Past indecision, delays and mistakes dissolve now. (Okay, the mistakes won’t dissolve – you just won’t make any more. And you weren’t really indecisive, but you might now wish you had been. Ah, well.) The weeks ahead emphasize communications, details, travel, casual friends and contacts, siblings and curiosity. 2009 accents “growth” in a relationship – this can bring marriage, lucky business partnerships, even divorce. Freedom, travel, a wider view of the world comes too – so might legal fights, success in higher education, lucky relocation, fame.  All these get the “green light” Tuesday – go!

Virgo   Aug. 23-Sept. 22
Delays end. So does indecision involving you, your life, your  career, status. Make a major start in money, earned income, work, health, machinery, possessions and purchases Tuesday. The results should grow and reward you. Earlier, Sunday’s for love, charming kids, beauty, creativity and pleasure. Relationships confront you Wednesday night through Friday.  (In a very sweet way later Thursday.) It might be  time to commit to someone. You are entering an era in which romantic, somewhat naive impulses will, finally, “overrule” your more lustful, secretive (or financial) urges. Good – be romantic!  Applies Saturday.

Libra   Sept. 23-Oct. 22
Delay and indecision end. Charge ahead, Monday/Tuesday, on romantic, creative, speculative, beauty, pleasure and teaching/raising children fronts. Mix the old with the new, past with present. Results might be delayed to mid-October, but they’re brewing! This is your time, Libra, for  a month – charge ahead in any area, start important projects, tackle projects that have intimidated you, ask special favours (e.g., for an introduction, or a try-out for your idea at work). Be there in person, for you’ll impress others. Beware only Friday night, Saturday pre-dawn, regarding a relationship.

Scorpio   Oct. 23-Nov. 21
Delays end overall, particularly in social zones. A property, domestic or retirement “bonanza” might not come yet, but it will begin flowing by mid-October: get ready, prepare documents, take steps in these areas Monday/Tuesday. (“Bonanza” – a house purchase or sale might come through, or you solve a child’s educational dilemma, etc.) A legal hassle might also end mid-October. Be patient. Keep a restful stance – your energy and charisma are low until October 23. Even so, you can be intrigued by a romantic glance (or creative surge) Wednesday to Friday. Protect health Saturday.
	
Sagittarius   Nov. 22-Dec. 21
Happiness, social joys abound! Delays dissolve in many areas (technically, 6 a.m. Tuesday). You can charge ahead now, especially in career, prestige relationships, opportunities, relocation, litigation, and partnership zones. All these require communications (and, perhaps, short travel) which you can do effectively and luckily Monday/Tuesday! Take a breather and tackle some foundational things Thursday/Friday – sleep, eat, do laundry, make sure the underpinnings of a project or proposal are solid. Study your relationships and projects: prepare to jettison the stale and atrophied; prune your garden. 

Capricorn   Dec.22-Jan.19
The accent lies  on ambition, career, reputation, community status, and relationships with higher-ups  (including parents, and your own parental role). You can pursue  these without hindrance in the weeks  to come.  Recent delays end Tuesday, especially in the areas just  mentioned (career, etc.) and in legal, educational, cultural, love, far travel and income-earning zones. Your personal prestige rises nicely Sunday – a compliment arrives! Chase money Monday/Tuesday. Buy important items Tuesday. Mid-week’s for travel. Relax Saturday – something’s ending.

Aquarius   Jan. 20-Feb. 18
At last, delays disappear! The gates open to investments, financial pay-offs, loan approval, inheritance, mystery, sexual intimacy, lifestyle changes or a health diagnosis or operation. But the main accent, this week and the few ahead, is on culture, publishing, legal matters, post-secondary education, foreign travel, love and social rituals (e.g., weddings). Chase after these – you’re free of mistakes going forward, and you can accomplish much. But don’t expect huge success – the biggest rewards will occur in “purely you” areas – fame, happiness, widening friendships. Start, Tuesday! Don’t look back!

Pisces   Feb. 19-March 20
Delays end in relationships – this includes anything from marriage plans to divorce, relocation, litigation, negotiations, agreements and contracts – to the clashes of war. So charge ahead with these, Tuesday onward. However, the main emphasis going forward is on the results of relationships: commitment, funding, sexual embrace, pregnancy, pooling of efforts and resources – and, on the bad side, potentially paying for any negative  relating stuff you committed since August 21. Sunday brings soft happiness! Retreat, plan Monday/Tuesday. Begin things (money things) Thursday/Friday.
