ASTRAL REFLECTIONS

	Pretty soon I'll write about the next 13-month luck cycle - a new one begins in mid-December. But first, let me explain my recent warnings. I've advised every sign not to start major new practical projects before February 18. (But, as I've said all along, do continue with projects begun before September 2007.) Every time I do this (advise against starting new projects) I receive a plethora of protesting emails - most of which ask if their contemplated new project might be an exception. As a result, in the last few years, I've started to "flag" these periods months before they come, so you won't be caught by surprise.
	In honor of "exceptions," though, I want to look at the cracks in my advice - at what it doesn't cover.
	New starts are not favored now through December 18 because the planets of prosperity and practicality (Jupiter and Saturn) are at cross-purposes, which allows neither urge to succeed. But this isn't a "deal breaker." The conflict between these two doesn't come to a climax - not even close to one. Slow Saturn doesn't get within shouting distance of tripping up Jupiter before Jupiter changes signs December 18. So projects started before September won't be derailed. New projects, however, will have luck or practicality, but not both, leaving them curiously lame. In mid-December, Jupiter starts to co-operate with Saturn - in a long, friendly phase that opens the door to great new practical ventures all the way through 2008, even into 2009.
	So the present autumn/winter is not a "killer" - just a lingering, cooling cloud saying we shouldn't plant seeds now if we want big, healthy plants. 
	From December 18 to January 30/08, the situation gets more interesting. Now our practical urges meet a co-operating environment of luck, friendliness and optimism. But Mars is retrograde (it started in mid-November). So our will power is either reduced or tends to circle around itself, without being able to go forward, making this an unfavorable time to start a big new project. However, practical projects which do not demand a determined push could well succeed. So don't build a factory, but you might buy a stock.
	Mars retro also affects potency and sexual assertiveness. (It makes females critical and males withdrawn.) So mid-November through January is not the best time to begin a love relationship, nor search for a mate. 
	Finally, January 28 to February 18, Mercury turns retro - the familiar signal that we should start nothing. Then, warnings end - for 2008 will be a huge go-forward year!

Start Nothing: Before 7:34 a.m. Sun., 3:51 a.m. to 9:57 a.m. Tues., 1:41 p.m. Wed. to 3:27 p.m. Thurs., and after 10:28 p.m. Sat.

Aries   March 21-April 19
Relationships, relocation, dealings with the public, fame, contracts, negotiations, marriage and general opportunities - these make life interesting now. You'll have to be diplomatic, as others hold the aces (through October). If you are seeking to obtain any agreement, be quick, as everyone will grow indecisive by next week (Oct. 11, technically). (The indecision will emerge from changing circumstances in financial, intimate, or "deep zones.") Talk to people, broach subjects, Sunday (AFTER 3 pm) Monday, and Friday/Saturday. Home, family, real estate and security issues are both important and lucky Tuesday/Wednesday.

Taurus   April 20-May 20
Tackle chores, repair (rather than buy) machinery, handle service people, dependents, and the routine of life. If you like your job, you can lose yourself happily in it now. Chase money and/or make purchases Sunday/Monday. (Better after 2 p.m. Sunday.) Communicate, travel, welcome siblings or casual friends, Tuesday to Thursday. Sweet peace reigns between you and your spouse or work partners. Retreat to home, family, or Mother Nature Thursday eve to Saturday. Make requests, handle negotiations now - such matters hit a wall of delay October 11 to November 1. 

Gemini   May 21-June 20
Romance, adventure, beauty, speculative and creative pursuits, sports, games, self-expression, charming kids - any or all of these bless your life for a few weeks. Your charisma and energy soar Sunday/Monday - you'll attract attention, if not love! Chase money Tuesday/Wednesday - luck rides with you. A talk or message - or trip - this week will cure things between feuding spouses, competitive peers, even between you and an alienated "public." Romance might arise with a co-worker. Talk, travel are doubly emphasized, luckily so, Friday/Saturday. Complete work tasks quickly - next week brings a slow-down.

Cancer   June 21-July 22
Home and family, security and retirement, nature, gardening and farming, food and kitchen - these apple-pie themes draw you now. You feel creative and loving around the home, with kids. But start any important creative or kid-related projects soon (e.g., interior decorations, furniture, school applications) as next week will bring a mistake-prone slow-down, lasting the rest of October. The same period might bring an old flame. Rest, contemplate and plan Sunday/Monday. Your energy and charisma rise Tuesday-Thursday, so start things, ask favors, get out and be seen. Money's lucky Friday/Saturday.

Leo   July 23-Aug. 22
Life's busy with errands, calls, details, paperwork, friendly chats. Study home, family and property matters - if there is something you can fix or clear up early, do it now, as October 11 to November 1 brings a domestic slow-down. Your appeal and charisma still shine nicely for one last week, so use this time to accumulate allies, have affectionate talks, write cards, etc. Legal, educational, cultural and far-travel concerns become a burden more than an aid through December 30 - don't make enemies, and avoid dark alleys, biker clubs, etc.

Virgo   Aug. 23-Sept. 22
Chase money, buy/sell, collect and pay bills. Your career and community reputation are under good auspices Sunday (after 2 p.m.) and Monday (after 10 a.m.). Life's freshness, social joys, popularity, optimism, flirtations and entertainment arrive Tuesday to Thursday mid-day. (Now to late December, you grow hopeful about an investment. You might also feel sexually attracted to a social acquaintance - if you/he/she's married, back off, or you'll severely reduce your chances for a happy romance (with lucky domestic potential) in 2008. Rest, contemplate and contact charities, government or institutions Friday/Saturday.

Libra   Sept. 23-Oct. 22
Your charisma, energy, effectiveness, luck and confidence are at a yearly high! Act, see and be seen, ask favors, start significant projects or give a powerful push to projects/tasks that need your best, or that you've been intimidated by. You'll succeed! (But avoid commencing big new practical projects such as a business, house construction, etc.) Start soon, or finish up old things, as a mistake-prone, indecisive period of delays comes October 11 to November 1. Bosses, parents and authorities are short-tempered, impatient and pushy now through December - be diplomatic!

Scorpio   Oct. 23-Nov. 21
Rest; contemplate. Fulfill neglected obligations, contact institutions, government, and charitable and spiritual organizations. Mysteries lure you Sunday/Monday. There's some good here, some bad; let your morals be your guide. Wisdom and a mellow mood flow Tuesday to Thursday. A long-standing (more like long-awaited) career or business honor or opportunity (especially the dollar kind) might finally come through Tuesday to Saturday. It's a great week to speak to bosses on planning, philosophical, or policy subjects - your insights and attitude will be appreciated. Finish things - delays and indecision start next week.

Sagittarius   Nov. 22-Dec. 21
Wishes come true! Popularity, optimism, social delights, flirtation and entertainment rush in! You sense the public's desires and responses, so this is a good time to plan shows, conventions, gatherings, cultural and artistic venues, etc. Join a group; grow active in a special community. Partly by next year, Sage, and totally by 2009, the inwardness, power struggles, hermit-urges, frustrations, despairs, and general gloom of the last 12 years will fade, then disappear completely. You've already had a taste of this emotional uplift in '07 - more, much more, will come!

Capricorn   Dec. 22-Jan. 19
Be ambitious, but diplomatic. The three months ahead feature intensified relationships - heated in love as well as enmity. Do your planning (and hold group planning sessions) this week, as October 11 to November 1 brings slowdowns, confusion and errors to these activities. (A former flirtation - or good, hearty friend - might return during those weeks.) Tackle chores Sunday (afternoon) and Monday. Relationships are lucky, opportune Tuesday/Wednesday - pounce on opportunities, meet the public, discuss relocation. Relationships veer into deeper waters Friday/Saturday. Travel, learning, cultural activities and love, flow sweetly through October. 

Aquarius   Jan. 20-Feb. 18
A sweet, mellow mood fills this week. You're starting to think of new career, business and ambitious ventures - but most things, especially ambitious things, enter a haze of delay, mistakes and false starts October 11 to November 1. Begin only what you can finish immediately - or stick to this week's better themes: far travel, publishing, higher learning, cultural involvements, love and law. Sunday/Monday offer romance, creative and speculative success. Tackle important chores mid-week, as luck permeates them, and they'll be difficult later. Relationships, fresh opportunities, exciting meetings arrive Friday/Saturday! 

Pisces   Feb. 19-March 20
Finish things, and start only small, quick projects - especially in legal, international, travel, cultural, publishing and higher learning zones. Confusion, indecision and mistakes plague these from October 11 to November 1. You'll grow passionate (or creative) about money for the next three months - speculative urges will nudge you to gamble, take a chance. Be careful with this. Your romantic courage intensifies now to next March! It's time for artists to break into new territory. (Start early November for better - or March/April/08 for best - results.) A sexy romantic attraction arises mid-week!
