ASTRAL REFLECTIONS BY TIM STEPHENS SEPTEMBER 2 - 8, 2007 All times/dates are PDT. This Sunday, Saturn leaves LEO and enters the sign of VIRGO. He'll stay in Virgo through October 2009, and again briefly, April to July 2010. I love talking about Jupiter, because this planet usually brings expansion, luck, cheerfulness, understanding and joy. But life also needs realism, caution, diplomacy, skepticism, sober thoughts, discipline, restrictions and boundaries, structures, "do's and don'ts." These form Saturn's domain. For many of us, these two areas, expansion and restriction (luck and sobriety, cheer and skepticism, etc.) contain much of life's fullness. (But not all - love and sex, love, beauty, death, spirituality, and other matters fall under the rule of other planets.) In the weekly messages below, I'll focus on Saturn's new indications for each sign. I apologize for the somber tone of these little forecasts - but that's Saturn's nature. Whatever Saturn promises for you (see below for your sign's specifics) don't be too quick to grasp it - through December 19/07, this planet's influence is not to be fully trusted, for it could nudge you to open the door to a subtle trap. Patience is best. Speaking of patience, a few readers are bothered by my advice not to start anything significant before February 18, 2007. Here's the reason: Jupiter, the planet of luck, is dumped on, squelched and restricted by Saturn now through mid-December. This makes any brand new business, practical or investment projects face headwinds. Larger economic, social or other realities do not agree with our notions of prosperity. Mars, a planet essential to our will power, determination and self-confidence (especially for men, in testosterone and sexual prowess zones) runs retrograde from mid-November to late January. The retrograde causes a sort of circling action, as we search, unsuccessfully, for the door that leads to clear, forward action. Mercury goes retrograde late January to February 18 - perhaps the worst retrograde, as it befuddles the mind and muddles the results. So my simple advice is, start nothing of life-affecting importance. But that doesn't mean do nothing! We should all continue with what we started in better times (i.e., pre-September/07). For example, if you applied for a job in July and were hired in August, yet don't start work until, say, September 15, your actual start (astrologically) was in July. So while it's not ideal to begin the work in September (or October, etc.) the actual "start time" occurred under good aspects, not bad - and you should still find you results are good - so show up for work! I hope that puts some minds at ease_ Have a good week, my friends. Start Nothing: 5:47 p.m. Sun. to 0:30 a.m. Mon., 4:01 a.m. to 4:08 a.m. Wed., and 10:04 a.m. Thurs. to 9:59 a.m. Fri. Aries March 21-April 19 This Sunday the planet Saturn leaves your romance sector and enters your work arena. Romance, creative and speculative ventures, and self-expression will thrive! (Hints of this arrive Friday/Saturday.) For two years, your work will be a little heavier and harder, but also more "natural" - the work you perform will translate directly into career, status or prestige benefits. These two years will be an excellent time to solidify your position among higher-ups - an important theme, because from 2008 to 2024, your career and reputation will undergo slow but constant change. Taurus April 20-May 20 The planet Saturn has slowed your domestic, real estate, family, retirement, and security interests the last two years, bringing restrictions and a sober mood. This Sunday, Saturn leaves these areas - future progress here should quicken and occur with much more ease. For the two years ahead, restrictive Saturn travels through your sector of romance, creativity, speculation, beauty, pleasure and teaching of children. This isn't a bad thing, as Saturn, for you, tends to bring love, understanding, wisdom, and "social goodness." E.g., romance, though slow, can lead to a wedding. Gemini May 21-June 20 Writing, talking, driving, handling machines, phones, computers, doing paperwork - for two years these have been burdensome and slow. You've searched for words, you've often just stayed home rather than charge out on half-hearted errands, and your curiosity has dimmed. This weight lifts Sunday, as the planet Saturn leaves Leo and enters Virgo. You'll talk, befriend, travel, and become your perky self again! Until 2010, treat home, domestic, child-related, security, retirement, soul, diet, gardening and real estate concerns seriously. You might make a deeply considered realty investment (best in 2008). Cancer June 21-July 22 The money restrictions of 2005-07 dissolve from Sunday onward (for 27 years) because Saturn, the planet of "little reward," orbits into your sector of daily communications, short-distance travel, paperwork, casual contacts, siblings, details, errands and curiosity. Until 2010, you'll feel that these matters will grow a little burdensome, and slower. It will take longer to write a report, for instance. If you're single, you'll meet two viable life-mates during this period, via a conversation, trip or media site. If you're married, potential business partners appear in the same way. Leo July 23-Aug. 22 Since mid-2005 the planet Saturn, sojourning in Leo, has brought an unusually sober, serious, self-denying, Spartan outlook. Your work has been heavy, long and boring. This great weight lifts Sunday, and won't return for 27 years. But you will need to be fiscally conservative now to mid-2010, especially if you're not yet thirty. If you've worked hard to date, Saturn will probably bring a good, solid increase in pay. The best news is that your heart finally lifts - up and up like a kite on the breezes of joy! Virgo Aug. 23-Sept. 22 The planet Saturn, for the last two years, has made dealings with government, large corporations and institutions hard and slow. Saturn hasn't helped your love life, either, because it's your romance planet, and it's been "hiding." Saturn moves into Virgo Sunday - through mid-2010. This will bring a serious focus on romance, creativity, speculative ventures, teaching/raising children, beauty and self-expression - in a way that leads to solid, lasting results. (Especially in 2008.) We consider Saturn to be hard, restricting, but for you, it's the planet of deep, solid joy. Libra Sept. 23-Oct. 22 The planet Saturn leaves your zone of socializing, friendships, entertainment, light romance and optimism. It has suppressed, even depressed all these since mid-2005. That gloom ends now, as Saturn moves into your sector of government, management, institutions, large corporations, charity, spirituality, retreats and spas. You'll find involvements with these to be slow, even burdensome until July 2010. (On the other hand, you can find a perfect, stable "retreat.") Though 2008 will be relatively quiet, this "Saturn move" frees you for more love and social joys: you'll understand in 2009! Scorpio Oct. 23-Nov. 21 This Sunday the planet Saturn leaves your career zone. A huge weight will lift; work grows lighter, bosses less skeptical and demanding, even your parents (father, mostly) will lighten up. Life gets easier - for 27 years! But Saturn has to go somewhere. Now to July 2010, he will exercise his uniquely sober, realistic and somewhat restrictive influence on your socializing, entertainment, networking, and optimism zone. Saturn's a friendly planet for you, so this period should be productive - through communications you will gain new friends, probably of much different ages. Sagittarius Nov. 22-Dec. 21 Since 2005, the planet Saturn has cast a veil of slowness and difficulty over higher learning, religion, philosophy, media concepts, statistics, abstraction, culture, weddings, law, and international travel. Sunday Saturn moves on - freedom and lightness return to these super-important arenas, for 27 years! (Wait until 2008 to enter them.) Now through mid-2010, career, status, and dealings with authorities, bosses and parents will demand a serious, dutiful, loyal, uncomplaining approach - if you give it you'll 1) increase your income; and 2) ensure a strong, smooth career path for three decades. Capricorn Dec. 22-Jan. 19 Your ruling planet, Saturn, has served you a dish of mystery since mid-2005. You've been drawn to, yet puzzled by, sex, investments and large financial arrangements, research/investigation, diagnosis, critical health matters, commitment and consequence. This Sunday (through July 2010) Saturn opens the curtain and lets in the light: understanding, higher learning, international travel, media involvements, love, culture, religion, philosophizing and wisdom come! - Not easily, but steadily and rewardingly. You'll feel an assurance, a freshness, a sense that life is new and adventures wait! (More after December 2007 than before.) Aquarius Jan. 20-Feb. 18 Since mid-2005, relationships have dimmed. Love, marriage, dealings with the public, contract negotiations and business partnerships have demanded more effort for less reward. That ends Sunday, as the cause - the planet Saturn - moves into your sector of mystery, depth, large finances, mortgages, investments, lifestyle choices, commitment and consequence, sex and pregnancy, research, diagnosis and critical health matters. These areas will deepen, slow and "solidify" now to mid-2010. (Avoid them before 2008.) Marriage brightens, but sex slows; partners grow friendly, but partnership finances demand more work. On balance, happiness increases! Pisces Feb. 19-March 20 Work has been long and heavy since 2005. Now the planet signaling heavy burdens (Saturn) moves into your partnership sector, letting work and health return to normal. (Don't plunge into these two areas before mid-December 2007, though.) Until mid-2010, Saturn will inject skepticism, caution, and slowness into relationships, love, marriage, business partnerships, dealings with the public, contract negotiations, relocation prospects, and your perception of opportunities. This is good - Saturn will ensure that you meet people, in your social life, who turn into quality partnership prospects, bearers of opportunity, etc. www.astralreflections.com.
