ASTRAL REFLECTIONS

	LIBRA, now to February 2014, your karmic axis lies along sexual and financial divides. This period will favour casual sex, and delay deep, committed and transformative sex (or make it a source of negative temptation). By casual sex, I don’t mean sleeping around, but enjoying sex as a pleasurable activity, a dalliance, even between life-long partners – this benefits you now, whereas sex as a powerful, significant life-changer – pregnancy, commitment, getting into another’s soul – will tend to lead you into traps, dead-ends or (most beneficially) delays. (Delays here protect you, keep you of harm’s way.) In finances, the same divide exists: investment, large debts (e.g., a mortgage) and major money changes, forming monetary or business partnerships, letting others have a strong say or control over your financial outcomes, can lead to regret. The safer way: earn your own income, spend it, and keep it. Focus on daily money, not long-term. Accept surface appearances rather than mistrusting, researching and opening closet doors.
	SCORPIO, the period to February 2014 emphasizes relationships, and will present you with at least one big choice between independence and interdependence. You will tend to fare better if you choose independence. This can be a poor time to marry (and I would shy away from ever marrying anyone met now to February 18, 2014). If you’re already dating or in love with someone you met before August 31, 2012, wait until late February 2014 onward to tie the knot. You might experience a series of delays, some of them inexplicable or seemingly unreasonable, in partnerships, relocation, contract signings or negotiations, co-habitation or marriage plans, fame, or dealings with the public. These delays are actually protection, keeping you from walking through the wrong door. It is better to rely on yourself and your own efforts now. DO enjoy friends, find love, seek adventure and delight – just don’t commit your future.
	SAGITTARIUS, your karmic axis, now to February 18, 2014, lies in the zones of work, health, dependents, duties, and “agencies.” Hands-on work, “I can do it better myself,” preventive health such as vitamins and herbs, repairing your own car or back porch, getting a job just to survive, buying or operating machinery – these can bring loss if you over-focus on them. For example, if you’re already a heavy-equipment operator, going to work as usual is okay, but buying a big tractor or excavator, or working overtime, or quitting your present position to train in or seek work in heavy equipment, would be an over-focus, and a (potentially big) mistake. As much as you can, aim for management roles, delegating chores, and seek the big benevolent arms of government agencies, institutions (hospitals, colleges, etc.) or large corporations. This is a good time for therapy, counselling, advice. For seeking a spa or vacation retreat, for R&R. Don’t become anyone’s slave – especially not your children’s.

Aries   March 21-April 19
A month of relationships begins with a mildly rocky start (Sunday/Monday) but all’s well that ends, well, peaceably. And that’s the outlook, for October 5 will remove almost three years of opposition, power plays, delay and disappointment in relationships, from marriage to contracts to simple everyday dealings with strangers. Not all will be cured – you’ll continue to face career and reputational pressures into 2023. But love and friendship, at least, will return. Your optimism and popularity surge Monday eve to Wednesday. Lie low late week. Energy’s explosive Saturday: calm!

Taurus   April 20-May 20
A month of work faces you – just slog through it. Protect your “everyday” health – dress and eat sensibly. A health or employment matter that has irked you for three years will dissolve in two weeks – could be a mental or “attitude” condition. Sunday/Monday bring understanding, gentle wisdom/love. Be ambitious Monday eve to Wednesday – higher-ups like you, could open the door to an upward climb. Yes, enter, take it! A mild uplift in optimism, popularity, a smidgeon of romance comes Thursday/Friday. Saturday climaxes legal, background, health matters: stay calm, forgive, love life.

Gemini   May 21-June 20
A month of joy begins: romance, pleasure, arts/beauty, creative surges and risky yet lucky urges – and happiness with your children’s progress. Be adventurous. If you’re attracted, say so! A grey pall or hesitation that has plagued this area (especially romance) for almost three years will lift (for three decades) October 5. In addition, three years of financial grief will also end. This is not a complete change, perhaps a fifty per cent improvement; but before you could not win; now you will win at least half the time. Careful Saturday: love, money, sex, friends –all explosive.

Cancer   June 21-July 22
Now begins four weeks of down-home concentration: children, gardening, food, nutrition, security, real estate, business foundations and territory. This entire zone has been gripped in the velvet claws of delay, lack of enthusiasm, restrictions and overly-pragmatic demands for almost three years – this, in turn, has caused relationship dissatisfaction and career unpredictability. The last two could explode Saturday. But the home zone gets a slow sweet curative lift October 5 onward, which will help turn relationships from anger to ease. (Well, partly!) Be restful, nap often. 

Leo   July 23-Aug. 22
The month ahead is not an important one. Let go of stress; plunge into smaller things: errands, details, paperwork, short trips, casual acquaintances, and information gathering. This whole area, which has been rather sluggish for the past three years, will lift, grow more buoyant, from October 5 onward. (That day begins two plus years in which you would be wise to work on your abode, serve your children’s interests, and seek to end old, nagging health problems, especially with your back, heart or elimination system.) An easy week – but take care Saturday with travel, law, opinions.

Virgo   Aug. 23-Sept. 22
The month ahead features money, buying/selling, possessions, memory, rote learning, and sensual attractions (ones that might turn boring in the long run). A three-year pall lifts from all these things October 5. (Paradoxically, this ensures that new purely sensual attractions will eventually bore – the “new excitement” that looms in relationships now to 2025 will bring a magic and poetry – and sexuality – far stronger than mere sensuality.) Work’s lucky Tuesday. Careful Saturday: finances, sex, secrets, health, intellectual pursuits and far travel – all are “accident prone.”

Libra   Sept. 23-Oct. 22
Your energy, charisma, luck, charm, clout, timing and effectiveness soar during the few weeks ahead. Go forth, conquer dragons, tackle intimidating tasks/situations, and start important projects. This won’t be done without a struggle; the first of these appears mildly Sunday/Monday (on domestic or security fronts) and the second explodes more significantly late Friday, all Saturday: this one can pit a crucial relationship, home/security, and your own swelling needs against each other. Remember: you call the shots now: you win. In two weeks, three years of gloom lift, dissolve.

Scorpio   Oct. 23-Nov. 21
Use the month ahead to recuperate, Scorpio. Though you’ll remain determined, brave, even gung-ho for the next two weeks, your energy reserves are falling. Eat and dress sensibly, and nap often. Sunday/Monday bring minor delays or disappointments in short trips, details, paperwork and communications. Your home, family, real estate, retirement programs and security face splendid luck Monday eve to Wednesday (Tuesday best). Take advantage! Romance, sweet notions fill late week, but go slow. Saturday brings climaxes in work, health and communications: be calm, diplomatic, and safe. 

Sagittarius   Nov. 22-Dec. 21
The weeks ahead bring popularity, light romance, soaring optimism, entertainment, group affairs and wish fulfillment. “Soaring” optimism because an influence that has held down all these areas, including optimism, moves on by October 5, letting everything rise – including your hopes. (And hopes lead to action, action to benefit.) Sunday/Monday feature money and possessions – and minor problems with them. (These, too, will “lighten” in two weeks.) Travel and communicate Tuesday/Wednesday. Home, Thursday/Friday. Romantic, monetary problems climax Saturday: contain temper! 

Capricorn   Dec. 22-Jan. 19
The weeks ahead emphasize your ambitions, career, relations with higher-ups and authorities, and your community reputation. A change will occur on October 5 that (subtly and at imperceptibly at first) ends three years of high yet frustrating ambition, and begins three years of more social, peaceable, and hopeful ambition. Before, you climbed by hard work; now forward, by playing golf at the company tournament, joining committees, etc. Your energy soars early week. Chase money Tuesday. Saturday brings recent domestic, security and property stresses to a climax: you’ll solve it!

Aquarius   Jan. 20-Feb. 18
A sweet, gentle month of love, understanding, far travel, cultural affairs, learning, legalities and “broadcasting ideas” lies before you. These things have been sluggish, restrictive and a “hard climb” the last three years: starting October 5, they bounce back to normal – and “benevolent excitement” will soon follow. The first order of business is rest and contemplation: do this Sunday/Monday. Your energy surges back Monday eve through Wednesday – charge ahead! Chase money or spend it (cautiously) Thursday/Friday – don’t buy high-tech. Friends and gossip (un-friends) climax Saturday.

Pisces   Feb. 19-March 20
A month of mysteries, research, lifestyle changes, sexual urges, health diagnoses and financial commitments begins. This zone has kept you hopeful for the last three years, but has given little. That changes October 5: the restrictions dragging down this area dissolve. But “normality” isn’t promised: sex, money, etc. will grow more unpredictable, and deeper – an adventure of exploration looms. (This adventure starts with a puzzling bang Saturday: buy nothing – including another’s “line.”) Joy trumps events early week. Contact government, institutions Tuesday/Wednesday – success!
