ASTRAL REFLECTIONS

	A reader has asked me to outline the good and not-so-good times to have children in 2009. It's a great request, but impossible to fulfill. The complexity of the universe interferes.  Every day, even every minute of the day, produces different charts. In an instant of time, on Earth, every one of the 360 degrees of the zodiac is rising somewhere, so immediately we have 360 different charts. With permutations, since location also affects the zenith of the sky, and the nadir, and other points, such as Arabic Parts - with permutations, we have probably 1,000 plus different charts existing simultaneously.  Add in the constant movement of Sun, Moon and all the planets (not even mentioning asteroids, etc.) and a good 25,000 to 50,000 kids could be born in one day, each with a different birth chart - different, at least, in the indication of fortune or the lack thereof in the child's ensuing lifetime.
	Not only can't I approach such detail, I can't even simplify it.  For example, say I write that June 10-20 would be the best time to be born during a certain year (for a good life, not for ease of birth). There would remain many times - thousands of times - outside this period that are splendidly fortunate, but are not "long enough" for me to mention. Within these "lucky" 10 days (June 10-20), there will also be times that yield disastrous birth charts. Because the Moon makes an average of four aspects every day, or about 40 over those 10 "good" days, SOME of them have to be bad. Even worse (for prediction of a good birth period) about 15 different degrees pass the ascendant (affecting personality) mid-heaven (affecting career) descendant (affecting relationships and marriage) every single hour. Half these degrees will be good/lucky, half bad/difficult.  Unless the mother opts for a timed cesarean, it's impossible to pre-determine the hour and minute of birth. 
	But some broad things can be said: for instance, children born in 2008, generally, will have the knack of building their material fortunes higher over their lifetime. Those born in 2009 will be more idealistic; those in 2010, mystic - many sailors will be born in 2010. Even more generally, we  know that kids born from 1984-1995 will always have a deep connection to sex, power, research, high tech and medicine, whereas children born 1996-2008 will tend to be political idealists, with a highly developed sense of world community. Kids born 2009-2024 will have an instinctive sense of hierarchy and structure - this generation will erect some of the world's greatest buildings.
	Kids born in 2007 will travel the world and be idealistic, almost scholarly. Kids born in 2006 will be lucky in power, sex, and finances; those emerging into the world in 2005 will be lovers, negotiators and fortunate in public life. Those from 2005, good farmers, lucky in practical matters; 2004, natural leaders, optimistic and daring - but perhaps too ready to take a chance. 2003, as a birth year, yields fortune with home, real estate, and children. But this is general, very general.

Aries   March 21-April 19
A month of "possessing" starts. Earnings, payments, purchases, sensual interactions, memory and learning - all are enhanced, especially Friday/Saturday. (Don't mix money and friends).  Your recent "inexplicable" magnetism ebbs mildly (though it will return next week into June). If last week brought a surprise intimacy, or a step into background areas (therapy, government relations, research, etc.) then this week boosts it, and sweetens it. Sunday's optimistic, friendly. But retreat Monday/Tuesday; conserve energy. Your vitality surges back Wednesday/Thursday - start significant things, make an appearance, ask favors, AFTER 6 p.m. (PDT) Wednesday. 

Taurus   April 20-May 20
The gloom ends - a month of vitality, charisma and good luck starts right now! Your optimism and social joy rise swiftly Monday/Tuesday. Romance has more depths than suspected - a flirtation could become much more! Take care Wednesday; barriers pile up early, then a solution comes late. Rest, contemplate,  retreat to noon Friday - you're tired, but everything comes easily. Your energy surges upward Friday noon into the weekend - start important projects, tackle challenging chores, see and be seen. But treat talk about your career, ambitions cautiously - rumors are not true. 

Gemini   May 21-June 20
Seek quietude, rest and recuperation for several weeks. You can find a great vacation hideaway. Contemplate and plan. Interact with government agencies, institutions, charities and large corporations. This is a perfect time to seek a therapist, advisor, psychic, etc.  (All this will proceed more successfully after Wednesday.) A Pisces endears him/herself to you.  Soon, by late week into May, a social trend will start that detracts from your "resting phase" - so rest as deeply as you can  right now. Sunday's mellow. Display ambition, meet VIPs Monday and (better) Tuesday.

Cancer   June 21-July 22
Your luck improves, this week into late May. You might sense this early Sunday morning, as you feel more optimistic about heavy matters - finances, sex, fate, etc. (These feelings are true - you're in line for a big, lucky liaison, commitment, lifestyle change, or investment success before February 2010.)  Wednesday's barrier or problem will turn recent indecision about your career, relations with higher-ups, home and friends into decisive, lucky action - immediately, or next week. All week, especially Friday/Saturday, your life flows with freshness, social delights, flirtations, new plans and wish-fulfillment! 

Leo   July 23-Aug. 22
Future weeks demand ambition, hard work, and schmoozing with VIPs, parents and bosses. You'll succeed, especially if you direct yourself outward, toward relationships, negotiations, sales appeals, etc. - don't withdraw, nor be overbearing! One of those "outward" opportunities, though it might be a little early, occurs Sunday morning. Mysteries, hidden values, financial and sexual longings and commitments fill Monday/Tuesday. You'll get a better response Tuesday. Though Wednesday starts with problems, it also triggers weeks of benefit in far travel, higher education and advertising or publishing - avoid legal hassles, same period. 

Virgo   Aug. 23-Sept. 22
A mellow, philosophical mood wafts over you for the weeks ahead - though you might not notice it strongly until Friday/Saturday, when this influence "doubles." Before then, you'll be busy dealing with heavy matters - work (which succeeds) Sunday, relationships and challenges Monday/Tuesday, and life's more mysterious side Wednesday/Thursday. Your Monday requests might eventually receive a "No." Tuesday's approaches, though, could yield splendid results, in romance and practical zones! Be very wary with money, commitment, secrets, sexual urges and intimacy Wednesday to suppertime - after, and Thursday (and into June!) these succeed. 

Libra   Sept. 23-Oct. 22
Mysteries, sexual desires, subconscious urgings, intuition, research or detective work, lifestyle changes, deep health matters, depth psychology, death of the old and birth of new projects and situations, inner worlds, major investments and debts, dreams, the occult - these fascinate you over the weeks ahead (especially this Friday/Saturday). Relationships veer toward there deeper, more consequential side. In concert with this, recent indecisions and delays in important relationships now end. You're ready to act - or respond! If you have no "partnership," life offers a significant one late this week into June!

Scorpio   Oct. 23-Nov. 21
Relationships assume center stage - especially late week into May. If you recently met an old flame (or do this week) it could smoothly transform into a new partnership - or into a battle of wills. Rest, and/or tackle domestic matters Sunday. Your romantic side awakens Monday/Tuesday - you're much more likely to get a "Yes" Tuesday (although Monday favors wooing in the "above 50" crowd). The same applies to creative, speculative, sports, children's education, and pleasure pursuits. Wednesday to Friday morning brings the first of a streak of fortunate work projects. 

Sagittarius   Nov. 22-Dec. 21
Work, machinery and health concerns fill the month ahead - especially Friday/Saturday, when a work project might begin. Buy machinery April 24 or 29, not in May. Wednesday through June romance, or a creative, speculative, pleasure or child-oriented project sprinkles your days with happiness. Tuesday might signal the end of an old love/passion, or a new beginning (or both). Any new beginning seems filled with a preordained domesticity - think twice. Get lots of rest and make preparations Monday/Tuesday. Romance tickles your interest Wednesday (daytime difficulties) and Thursday. 

Capricorn   Dec. 22-Jan. 19
Romance, games, sports, speculation, creative surges, joys from raising and teaching children - these fill the four weeks ahead - you're on a winning streak! (You might not notice it strongly until Friday/Saturday, when your emotions and luck climb onto the same train.) Chase money, or make important purchases Sunday. (Avoid "Start Nothing" times, above.) Travel, communications, details, paperwork and friends (a friendly romance?) fill Monday/Tuesday. Settle into home, family, and a restful stance Wednesday/Thursday. An important domestic project or situation "restarts" for a third and final stage (into early June).  

Aquarius   Jan. 20-Feb. 18
Home, property, family, security, gardening, agriculture, retirement, nutrition and digestion fill the weeks ahead. A significant project might begin in one of these areas late this week, Friday/Saturday - but realize that your own vague money notions might lead you astray in these: be realistic!  Although this is usually a beneficial "hibernation" month for you, many calls and short trips, siblings and friends and paperwork pressures can severely interrupt your "sleep" - but you'll enjoy it! A sweet, friendly romance might be slated. Get home projects underway before May brings confusion. 

Pisces   Feb. 19-March 20
The month ahead is busy but not important. Finish errands, communications, paperwork, distribution, travel and all detail projects in April (24th and 29th best) as May brings slowdowns and confused steps. A new project might begin in these areas Friday or Saturday - if so, keep it small enough that you can finish it before May 6, and ignore rumor, gossip, and "half-facts" - especially if you're writing or communicating. From late Wednesday onward to June, luck blesses your money picture - don't overspend on luxuries. A brief sensual romance is possible!
